I am going to change my bench vise tomorrow,, so I thought I would start a "Show It" thread,,

We do not want to see this type vice,,,

My preference is to use a milling vise for a bench vise,, the milling vise has much higher gripping power than the typical bench vise.

This is my current 10 inch wide vise,, I have used it for about a decade,,

I recently found the handle for this 7" mill vise with a rotating base.

This vise must weigh about 200 pounds,, it is kinda a cross between a vise,,, and an anvil,,,

I REALLY need the rotating feature,,
The 10 inch vise I take off will probably get a receiver type mount on the welding table.

So, show us your favorite vise,, and detail how it is secured,,,

I read the heading and was going to post a photo of booze and women!

My favorite is the Rigid Tri-stand. I also have a standard 6” vise mounted on an old big rig brake drum. Both are the same height if I’m doing something long.

Not the most used vise in my shop because of its size, (6” jaw/160 pounds) but my Made in USA Reed 4CA is pretty nice.

I have a few of them so can’t say for certain which is my favorite....

Have a Dawn 6" somewhere that I need to mount, been here almost 17 years and it's still in a box somewhere.

If you mount a 17 year old Dawn,, that sounds like a possible vice to me,,,

I lifted the 7 inch vise onto the workbench today,,,

The vise swivel was "kinda" full of chips,,
the vise had been upside down,, right before I lifted the vise onto the bench,,, :confused2:

I use my press a lot as a vise:

Does anyone else have a vice on castors?
