Now you are getting older - what don't you do?

The list of things that I don't/can't do has gotten longer since I turned 70. Now at 75 that list took a big jump about 6 weeks ago when I fell on some black ice in the grocery store parking lot and broke my left hip. Hopefully I will be able to get back to somewhere near normal over the next 6 months or so. For now it is turning out to be a big PITA in more ways than one.

Perhaps a meeting with a liability attorney would be beneficial?

I smashed my heavier Stihl saw by accident, and although I still have another, am thinking about a lighter saw. I can still easlly use the heavy 14 or so pound saw, I just notice it isn't as much fun to carry around anymore. Maybe, if I used it more often.

Absolutely! I did that while I was stuck at the Rehab clinic for 3 weeks. Just the array of insurance companies involved is more than I can keep track of.

Just curious. What do you think could have been the negligence on the part of someone other than yourself?

One of the patients few down from Canada last year and we had a few minutes to converse I asked if this procedure is covered in Canada... long story short is he did not want to wait the 9 months and he also wanted correction which isn't covered so he did a Medical Holiday to California...

Curiously, why the long wait? Does the government (or whoever handles health care in Canada) intentionally impose wait times to discourage certain procedures or is there a shortage of doctors because few want to work under that system?

It seems as though the insurance companies would spring for the vision corrections instead of paying for a lifetime of eye exams and glasses. I see nothing vain in wanting to see better and the insurance companies would benefit in the long run.

How would insurance companies benefit? I've never had health insurance that covered anything other than routine eye exams (which you'd still need/want anyway). Corrective lenses have never been part of the plan anywhere I've ever worked.

Just curious. What do you think could have been the negligence on the part of someone other than yourself?

This is America. If you get hurt it's always someone else's fault. Sue 'em!!!

IIRC, its a shortage of doctors and other service providers.
As I understand it, your dog can get a CT scan faster than you can up there (for a non-life-threatening issue).

During my working career, my health insurance always covered eye exams, lenses and glasses. The retirement insurance would cost me an extra $1400 per year. Now that I am getting older and having more vision problems, maybe now is the time to reinstate vision insurance.

Looks like you can see the benefits.
