Their tech support takes forever to answer a call, but once you have them, they are good at resolving issues

I did this too. I didn’t reply because I couldn’t remember how I reset it. Pretty sure I must have used the FLIR app.

When I did it I was sick... thought I had screwed myself.
But, after 30 min or so of research, I was able to download the application to my Mac, open it and gain access, change the resolution and restart the NVR. Then, was back up on the tv no problem.

Just a small update on the Reolink Argus 2 (not to be confused with the Netgear Arlo 2).
One of my reasons for buying them was the ability to move them around.
The camera has a concave base with magnet inside, designed to fit over a metal mount that is about the size of a golf ball.
I really like the small magnetic mount. It's easy to put a camera on and take it off, even when I can just barely reach the mount. So I screwed one in to the under eave soffit on my front porch. I've one on a magnet that I put on my truck or trailer to use as a backup cam.
These look very much like the mounts for the Netgear Arlo 2.
But Reolink has been out of stock since before I got my cameras in 2018. So I finally broke down and bought a set of chinese knockoffs of the Arlo 2 mount on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073XHRQP2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm happy to write they fit perfect.
The camera has a tripod fitting, but that requires screwing on, I much prefer the magnet mount.

I can't remember exactly where I left off with my contributions here and I'm a bit lazy to go back...
That said, I have installed a combination of Reolink and Dahua POE cameras hooked up to my home network. Running Blue Iris software on a dedicated PC. I very much like the Blue Iris software and how I can customize each camera, recording, triggering, alerts, etc. Between the two camera brands, I now believe the Dahua are much better than the Reolink's. Reolink's routinely loose partial signal and it appears to be a fault in their design based on info learned on ipcamtalk.com forums.
So, if you go this route... I suggest you steer clear of the Reolink's. I am not bad mouthing them but just saying they are not totally compatible with the system I have set up.

I came to realize that my "need" for cameras is far greater than my wallet wants to support.
To decently "cover" a building one usually needs at least 4 cameras, with all their infrastructure, on the corners.
I either need a lot more cameras and wiring or fewer buildings.
So I've been looking at a less expensive alternative.
In the past I've had a few Foscam PTZ.
Moderate support, changing standards, at times flaky hardware.
I bought some Netgear precursors to the Arlo - no PTZ but inexpensive, then Netgear promptly dropped support.
Now I'm playing with Wyze cams. Extremely inexpensive ($20). One son (who lives alone) has about 5 of them and uses them for monitoring his house and dog. So I bought some. I've two of their "Pan-cams" and 4 of their "V2"'s.
They are minimalist cams. Don't work with blue Iris. But I bought the 4 V2's for less than the cost of 1 of my Reolinks.
I've run 1 of the pan cams off a little $15 10AH battery pack for about a day with no problem. That plus a ziploc bag gives me most of the functionality of my Reolink but I get 4 times the "eyeballs" on the world.
Is anyone else trying these?
