Zero turn turf tires

I have bar tires in my Grasshopper and it’s a real game changer. A careless operator could really tear up the grass with it. A good operator can do it with no damage.

why the change? more traction on slopes? maybe consider filling rears 1/2 way, fronts all the way (or foam fill).
just a thought

Not really gonna do a thing on a zero turn mower

My CUT is shod with turfs and when on the grass I simply uncouple my 4 WD and use only rears.

When I forget my fronts do tear up the lawn* in turns otherwise in a straight line and 4 WD, no damage.
Naturally that is on relatively flat surfaces.

*Reason being the front differential has wheels turning at different speeds in turns and also the front 'lead speed' (usually some 5 % or so)

sure it will, done it on 2, just like it does on a tractor on a smaller scale. foam fill ft tires will tie down the front end a bit. but would advise against foam or full fill on rears, maybe 1/2 way w/fluid
still haven't heard from OP as to why he wants to change treads. best regards

My first zero turn (850 lbs) with turfs was terrible on hills.
My current zero turn is nearly double the weight (1600 lbs) with turfs was no better on hills. (the extra weight made little to no difference in traction IMO).
I replaced the turfs with bar tires (Chevron AT 101) and the difference in traction and mowing hills is HUGE.
Our hills that were always a problem with crappy turfs are no problem at all now.

See my original post. My turf tires make skid marks when changing directions.

Yea, because heavier mowers are less likely to get stuck in the mud

I would suggest you stick with a "chevron" bar (as others noted) vs. the ag bar. The bar profile has more taper as it extends outward. They are very effective on a ZTR, and will not cause any more turf damage if operated properly, yet provide superior traction vs a turf tire.

Well I tried mowing part of my property and I guess a portion was damp and guess what? I got stuck. Got the ATV out and pulled it out.

Will be ordering better tires shortly.
