I owned redmax saws (japan made zenoah) which the label used in US back before husky bought the redmax zenoah brand. Zenoah is Japan same company that makes the husky 543xp.

From what I understand. Redmax is a known name with the ope folks in lawn care. So they have now Dropped the jonsered name on the good stuff and only used on the homeowner stuff. The better jred built huskys are now under the redmax name.

All in marking from what I can tell. I think it is a flop. But I am 1 person and dont matter to their bottom line.

Guy just bought a redmax 9000 which is the ole jred 2188

The japan made zenoah redmax 5000 I had. They also had a nice 621 I think it was.

Went to a local auction yesterday that was selling some farm equipment. Had a list of several things I was interested in. But everything was going stupid expensive. Huskee 35t splitter went for $1200. Landpride 1884 rotary cutter brought $2300. A NH 451 sickle mower brought $2400, a bushhog 62" tiller went for $1700....etc etc. Everything I was interested in went for WAY too much IMO.

But they had a nice 562xp autotune saw.

Huskys really aren't my thing but it went cheap enough for its condition it's the only thing I came home with.

So not really being a husky guy, can anyone tell me about this particular model. Any quarks? When did they first come out (trying to get an idea of age)? Anything require special care/maintenance above and beyond what is typical of any saw?

Still trying to decide if I'm keeping this saw, or selling it. Haven't even cut with it yet. It started second pull...but typical when buying a used auction saw....duller than crap. So maybe today I'll get it sharpened and do some cutting and see how it compares to a dolmar 6400

Current model Husky, 60cc Autotune, $750 list price. It won't really be competitive with your big-cyl Dolmar 6400 at 84cc. If it ran and you got it for less than half the new price, then you probably did OK. Never tried an Autotune saw here, but I may have bought it if the price was attractive enough, just to try it out in the woods.

It was $290. Came with three bars and a dozen chains too;). Those werent laid out with the saw, but a relative of the seller dropped them off to me as they were finishing cleaning out the garage. Bout 8 of the chains look like they have only been sharpened a couple of times.

Dads 6400 is still stock, I know the 362 wont hold a candle to my BB saw. But I can compare it with the 116si and 120si and a stock 6400 just to see.

LD1 black tag will be on saw to tell you date of that one.

Can be bought much cheaper new then posted. Can get a 572xp with 20" for $799. ;)

I tested a demo 562 60cc out and wasnt impressed myself. I still run the poulan 60cc instead. IMO 56.5cc 357xp was better saw. But that is just me.
6400 should take its lunch. But is also heavier like my 415's 65cc too.

Early ones lot of issues. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/husqvarna/562-xp-auto-tune/

Not a bad price for a working saw, but I agree that the 372 is a better deal. The Autotune...not for everyone.

I'll see how I like it. Then decide if I want to send it down the road. I have already been offered more than I paid:thumbsup:

And remember, about a dozen chains came with it. With about 8 of the chains being 80% +.

And 3/8" full chisel .050 and 72dl makes it fit a whole slew of other saws I have that also wear a 20". Not to mention a couple of spare bars......makes the cost of the saw more like $150-$200 all said and done;)
