Do you grease your hitch ball

Diggin it - once you get your PTO all nice & clean - - you need to put a rubber sleeve on it. I goop my PTO with grease and then slip on the rubber sleeve. Keep it all nice and clean and rust free. The M6040 came with the sleeve.

I think they all do, At least my Kuboto's and Kioti all came with one.

So lets bottom line it:

If you don't grease, your ball and coupler will wear out faster
If you are relying on the hitch ball for your electrical ground, you are making a mistake in the first place.
You run a better chance of loosening your hitch ball if you run it dry and squeaky.

Downside to the greasing is the mess potential and dirt attraction. Both can be mitigated by cleaning and covering with a cover. And then their is SLOTH. Lots of people are slothful and don't want to do any more maintenance than they have to.

They then attempt to justify their sloth by using excuses that it might get their wife's dress dirty. Why yes it will if you con't clean and cover.

One of the best time worn excuses is "I don't have time" Bravo Sierra. If you have time to post on TBN, you have time for almost anything.

So Guys, get out there and grease those balls.

I never clued in as to why the tennis ball. I thought people were just highly protective of their precious Chrome Ball, or to keep those I have heard about that will (for whatever reason) suck the chrome off of your trailer hitch

Thanks for the lowes link. I use start page as search engine and and noticed while searching parts for a troybilt mower was getting very poor results.
So thanks again!
well spoke too soon.

Sure could use a newer/fresh one of those "suck the chrome off your trailer hitch" things.
The old one is kinda worn out.
