Oxy-Fuel and Plasma Cutters

For cutting shapes in metal or cutting heavy stock such as I-beams, I use my plasma cutter for material width up to 1.5” (1.25” in photo) or oxyacetylene torch.

I also made a cutting table to contain the “mess” inside the shop.

Mark, I have no plans for the cutting table. I used what I had available at the time and the overall size was determined accordingly. 60” long. 28” wide 33” tall

The sacrificial slats were 1/8”x1.5” with 2” spacing.

So you just tacked the slats? How do you remove them, plasma gouge?

Also can you show a little more detail on the debris collection/clean out system? I’m working from my iPhone so screen size is working against me.

You could make one similar to the water table on my cnc table but with an open bottom. Use angle to make make a frame so the slats have something to rest on then use some 1x1 angle cut to the desired spacing to hold the slats in place. You can kinda see how the angle is setup in this pic.

Nice job on the water table for your CNC! TMGT! Definitely two thumbs up!

No CNC in my shop. Strictly low tech. I could create and fabricate a project and perhaps even make it look pretty good, but I’d be DOOMED if I had to make an identical one. The king of “ONE OFFS”. Lol.

Mark, I’ll try to get some pics after lunch.

Thanks BB, didnt mean to post that up as a "look at me", just figured the slat arrangement might have helped. I'm out of town so I couldn't a close up of the table right now.

Thanks, TMGT but hopefully that concept will never even be considered to readers of this thread. I hope you and others will continue to post comments, questions and photos. The good bad, and ugly.

I envision whispered comments such as “ I really question the sanity of the OP and his mindless drivel, but I have to admit the text and pics are somewhat entertaining after my fourth beer....” :D

I think this thread has went very well. No arrogance that I noticed. Everyone sharing ideas.

Few years ago I built a brush guard/skid plate for my M9540. Posted a thread about it. Ended up building 8 of them. None were identical. So I totally relate to your "King of One Offs". :D
