We made my step daughter save up her money and then we matched it up to $2,000 for a car.

Along the same lines I'm thinking.

At 14 they can get working papers, but the issue becomes getting them to and from work, and where that work is located at from our home.

I forget which truck my one boy hates or loves (it's a ford vs chevy thing), but I'm amazed at how much he knows about trucks and why he knows what he wants, particularly since none of his friends drive yet either.

My boy had a few great lines as a toddler.
One day he had a cold and was sitting in his high chair, he was pretty miserable.
Out of the blue he announces “ I hate this f.....g cold !”
Another day he’s grunting and Turning red , we ask him what he is doing. He responds “ pushing my luck !”

OMG! That's funny! Did he grow up to be Rodney Dangerfield the second?

My sister asked my 3 year old grandaughter "Emma, are you a drama queen" Her reply was "No, I don't have my crown"

They talk and look at all the features on the internet. I'm actually surprised he's going for a truck. Quite a few boys that age have been leaning towards mid sized cars instead. Personally I would lean more towards the Chevy/ GM myself. But for me it's strictly a seat/ comfort preference. My Sierra is the most comfortable riding vehicle I've owned and driven. We have all makes and models at work. Can't stand the high back push forward head rest on the Ford seats as well as the wrap around pushes my shoulder out of whack. And the dodges feel like a sheet of plywood with lumbar support added after an hours drive.

Step daughter's first vehicle was given to her by her dad. She drove the snot out of it and just tore it up. Wife and I sat her down and told her we would help her get a decent vehicle. But weren't gonna pay for it all. She wasn't happy at first since some of her friends parents went out and took out substantial loans for her kids vehicles. But after setting her down, showing what full coverage insurance was gonna cost, plus the car note (which we informed her she would be responsible for all of it) she came around to our way of thinking. She was pretty proud when she got the vehicle and actually took care of it better as well.

Church service went for an hour and a half this morning. There was an active little girl in the pew in front of me that did an amazing job of remaining quiet, in spite of looking like she would explode from energy and boredom.

At one point, she started slamming her forehead into the palm of her hand. It looked like she was trying to give herself a concussion for a little bit of entertainment.

I went to a wedding like that, it was over 40c and no aircon and the old pastor was just rattling on forever about Adams rib being a euphemism, the church had seating for about 30 and there were about 200 of us packed in for what seemed like an eternity.
The doors were closed and you could hear a lot of collective grumbling and headbanging.
This was over 30 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday for all the wrong reasons.
