They talk and look at all the features on the internet. I'm actually surprised he's going for a truck.

He is also trying to embrace a redneck image, rebel flag and all IMO LOL

Kid loves country and is trying to push a dialect he forgot (which his mother and I don't have).

That said, he guessed it was Springsteen on the radio only because of the piano in the song (and he knew it had to be an older song), and he can guess other bands by how I taught him to reconize the artist, so even though I have never liked country music, I guess I can't complain.

I went to a wedding like that, it was over 40c and no aircon and the old pastor was just rattling on forever about Adams rib being a euphemism, the church had seating for about 30 and there were about 200 of us packed in for what seemed like an eternity.
The doors were closed and you could hear a lot of collective grumbling and headbanging.
This was over 30 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday for all the wrong reasons.
Experienced a wedding for a family friend when I was a kid. The family friend was marrying a man who just completed seminary school to become a Catholic minster and they decided to go all out. The wedding ceremony lasted 4 hours. Temps were in the mid 90's and the church's AC was on the fritz.

Grandparents thought it would be cute to dress my brother and I in matching suits with sweaters. I was one of those kids banging my head on the church pew.

Since that experience I tactfully find out how long the ceremony is intended to last. If it's over an hour, I will only attend the reception.

Church service went for an hour and a half this morning. There was an active little girl in the pew in front of me that did an amazing job of remaining quiet, in spite of looking like she would explode from energy and boredom.

At one point, she started slamming her forehead into the palm of her hand. It looked like she was trying to give herself a concussion for a little bit of entertainment.

I grew up Russian Orthodox, which is very traditional and pretty draconion IMO on how to handle kids. Last service I attended some years ago, some parents actually had electronics to keep the kids busy. I was BLOWN away. New I was getting old. I can still remember my mothers fingernails pinching into my skin to tell me I was misbehaving LOL (perhaps sounds cruel, but no one other than my wife has loved me more than my mother).

The reality is depending on how young they (children) are, you can't blame them for acting act. However, if I EVER brought a 2 year old to a church service and the kid was crying it's lungs outs, I'd take the child out of the service as not to disturb others in the service. THIS is the issue I have with today's society to some extent. Parents just don't know when to excuse them and their child because the child is uncontrollable, and others in your "public presence" don't deserve to put up with your uncontrollable child. However, COMMON COURTESY IMO tells me you leave with the child so the child doesn't cause a distraction to others.

Perhaps there is a feel good to child raising where if the child is acting like a brat, everyone just does a group hug and everything turns out for the good because everyone loves each other?

When my two girls were small, my wife would occasionally let them go through her lingerie drawer to find one of her silk camisoles. It seems my girls thought of them as "Princess dresses" because they were frilly and long enough to hang to their ankles.

One evening, the girls came running into our room to get a "princess dress" and they both grabbed for the same one, with the older daughter winning out. Not to be outdone, the younger daughter proudly grabbed the matching G-string and proclaimed she was going to wear the "eyepatch" as she pulled it over her head.
