No nail biting here, it isn't any surprise there are many things wrong with that tractor..

I'm sure you're all biting your nails wondering how it went. I ended up passing on the tractor, it had a lot of little things wrong, and some bigger things. I'm still looking, thanks for the advice.
NOPE!!! You were the one asking for advice if you don"t like it move on.

I did like it, which is why I listened and thanked everyone for it. I guess you missed that part?

Most people here take care of their investment so when asked we tend to look at a tractor that has been neglected as a problem tractor. Good luck in you're search.

Welcome aboard!

When I read the reply about moving on, I took it to mean "If you don't like that tractor, move on".

I believe you made the right decision. I came here a while back asking opinions on a (well) used machine. Before I asked, I already knew I should pass on it. What was really needed? Comments from others that helped remove doubts.

I think you made a wise decision. There are good used tractors out there. just as there are bad new tractors out there. It will be ultimately up to you, and what is available to you in your area. With that said also do not be afraid of looking a little farther away, Sometimes a short trip can save you a lot of money and you will enjoy the scenery and possibly be rewarded with a great used tractor. Also, It's very hard for me to take my own advice but i am going to give it to you and hope for the best.....Be Patient You will find you one.

So thanks again everyone who had some helpful input. I'm looking at my second tractor now, and after doing quite a bit of research I think this is a much better route. I decided to just bite the bullet and double my budget and look for some low hour sub compacts. I'm looking at an extremely clean, 50 hour Kubota Bx2660 with a loader and 60 inch belly mower for $11,000. How does that price seem? From my research it seems very reasonable, especially within 200 miles or so of me. And does anyone have experience with this machine? How does it perform on some smaller homestead jobs? Moving snow? My yard gets kind of soft, is this going to be too heavy for consistent yard mowing without tearing it up? It does not have turf tires. Anything else helpful anyone would like to chime in? Thank you.

Thanks for keeping us updated even if you encounter a few angry old men in the comments.

Have you thought about new? A new Kubota BX tractor with loader might run you about $19K with up to 5 yr 0% financing.

I have a really hard time buying new, knowing the depreciation that occurs on anything the second it rolls off the lot. I committed to the used BX2660 mentioned before. I think it's a fair price and I can reasonably call it an "investment" lol. I think depending on how this goes, o could possibly see myself eventually trading it in on a bigger, hopefully again super low hours unit.
