3-Point Hitch New Owner CK2610HST- What are you doing with a tow bar this big?

Leave the Ford in your profile. Others may direct a question at you knowing that you are familiar with that piece of equipment.

The galvanized bushing I made is an interference fit resulting from the galvanized finish. In my case I had a length of 1 inch galv conduit so that is what I used but for you, an galv nipple would be cheaper and result in the same finished bushing. Bob

You don't want a tight fit between drawbar, pin, and clevis hitch if you have any up and down terrain.

Bruce, I made the bushing up to reduce slop when I install my 1" shackle and pin. Bob

Hello All: Can you please educate me on the uses of a tow bar of this size? How are you using it? I'm getting ready to order from Ken's Bolt-on, so thought I'd ask in case I should add something based on your comments.

I can only see a 1 1/4" shank tow ball or a very large shackle (my 3/4" won't fit, looks like 1" minimum). It seems way too large for a tractor of this size, but then again, maybe I'm missing something as usual.

Thanks, Toukow

My CK20 did not come with a Draw Bar so I improvised and used a tow bar from an old bumper hitch. Made the hole 5/8 and it works fine for pulling stuff.

Thanks Rancho, what you've done would be totally adequate for what I intend on doing.

That said, I found on Ebay the 'offset' shown in Sparkee24's photo for $35 delivered. It has no details other than it's for a 'Massey Ferguson'. No hole diameters or spacing, nothing. Given what I've read on the forum about the lack of standards for three point hitch configuration, I infer it's highly doubtful that it would be a direct fit to my draw bar. Agreed?

Thanks, Toukow

I've actually been trying to find something (or make something) for the drawbar on my ck3510. I've got an old small utility wagon that I'd like to use to haul firewood, but the clevis tongue on it is too small to fit on the drawbar on the tractor. The drawbar is about 1.5" thick, while the opening on the trailer tongue is only about 1 1/4". I'm trying to avoid cutting and welding on the trailer tongue if I can, but haven't come up with a good solution just yet.

Isn't the top "hole" of the clevis tongue a different piece of metal than the bottom "hole"? That is, isn't the "hole" that has an offset bolted above or below the "hole" that is part of the tongue? Can't you just unbolt the two pieces and put some spacers (stack some washers in between the "offset "hole" bracket and the tongue, on the bolts that hold them together) to get the extra 1/4" you need?

Doesn't that offset go on the trailer/wagon tongue? Typically the trailer/wagon or device being pulled has the "clevis" (2 stacked holes) that go above/below the single hole drawbar of the tractor.

There are standards for 3 point hitch configurations, but that's a different subject than the (fixed) drawbar being talked about here. (unles you're talking about mounting a cross-drawbar on the 3 point hitch. View attachment ISO 730 - 3 Point Linkage.pdf

You can always message the seller and ask about the distance between the holes.

I just finished fabricating a tentative solution to hook a small yard wagon to the huge drawbar on my ck3510. I didn't want to weld anything on the wagon tongue, because my mother still occasionally uses the wagon behind her small garden tractor, while gardening, and I didn't want to prevent her from being able to do that. I also didn't want to weld or bolt anything onto my tractors' drawbar, as I have other implements that I didn't want to cause problems with.

The solution cost me 10 bucks for a piece of scrap rectangular tube steel at the scrapyard. It's not cleaned up or painted yet, but you'll see how simple it was to make. Should be plenty strong for this tiny little wagon, it's 1/4" thick steel.

I can see your point in the photos of NYCheese's post. Regardless, and to clarify, I do not wish to tow a trailer of any type, so compatibility with other equipment isn't an issue. I want to be able to put the eye of a large rope into 'something' and secure it. I could always buy the 1.25" pin shackle to accomplish that I guess. The 'offset' piece I referenced on Ebay would seem to accomplish that as well, per Sparkee24's photo, if the holes aren't an issue.

I had thought of that Rancho, but don't usually get a response from Ebay dealers on detailed questions. I'll give it a go though.

Man, I have a lot to learn! Thanks, Toukow
