Water World

What I really don't get is attitudes like this. We HAVE the DATA. It's freely available for everyone to investigate and research for themselves. Unless you want to believe that all scientists, worldwide, are engaged in some sort of organized conspiracy that can only be explained by their selfish desire to obtain.... their relatively meager salaries, then the consensus is clear: human activity is altering the climate. The greenhouse effect is easy to understand and calculate. Humans put over 40 BILLION tons of carbon into the atmosphere every YEAR nowadays. The average surface temp is warming, faster than it ever has before. Because of us. There is no mystery here.

NASA: Climate Change and Global Warming

At the same time, it is also perfectly reasonable to call people silly for blaming a local weather pattern or single storm event on climate change. There is just too much inherent variability in all weather systems to attribute small events to a global phenomenon.

Glad you have it all figured out. Seems there are scientist on both sides contradicting each other. So are the ones saying it is not man made, involved in a conspiracy? By the way, which is it, global warming or global cooling? Climate change is a non-committal the sky is falling. Just tell us all which way it is going please.

Thank you. Follow the money!

This has been exhaustively analyzed. Following the money shows that scientists downplaying man kind's contribution to global warming are the ones who have been paid by fossil fuel or other entrenched energy industry sources. And they only represent some 2-3% of the scientists actually studying the issue.

Again, the consensus is completely clear. The only way to believe otherwise is to intentionally avoid studying the subject yourself. Too bad so many of us would rather do that, then simply spend a little energy analyzing their own carbon emissions. We don't have to be guilty for being born into a society that was built dependent on burning fossil fuels for our basic lifestyles. But we can also just use a few brain cells to easily make a giant contribution in energy consumption reduction. The consequences of continued inaction are going to be absolutely dire.

Very well stated, I was going to respond, but you stated it better than I could have

And probably much more diplomatically!

Which way do you think this line is trending?

Again... we have the real temperature data. Feel free to research the issue, if you care. If you don't, fine, but then maybe don't spread disinformation on the internet, please.

I notice that there is no reference to where that chart was created or by whom?

Did it take long?

There are a FEW fringe, so-called, scientists who deny GW or CC whichever yoou prefer. There are NO accredited climatologists who deny it.

Yes,s the denialists do have a cadre of conspiracists doing their best, and failing, to claim it isn't happening. Best I can recall the global temp has risen 2 degrees over the last 50 or so years. Not a lot you say? Ask the people who have died in storms so far this year.

Please reference where these facts that you speak of are found, because I see at least two of your points that could be highly debated, thank you!
Not that anyone on your side has ever made up facts........

I’m not suggesting that climate change is not real. But I wonder if man will be blamed for the next ice age as well?

No, it will be blamed on my steak tonight (cow farts)!

As I said in my first reply, the Change affects what we see locally. The difference is 'climate' (wide scale) vs. 'weather' (local). Look here:

Climate Prediction Center

Hover over any of the Outlook links and observe the charts. Notice the 'warm' signatures in the upper left. That's just a small sample of the areas that have been cool in Human existence that have changed. The melting of northern and southern pole ice is not in doubt. Those pole areas have been 'warm' for the last several decades and appear on track to remain so for the foreseeable future.

Since I am the OP, I think I will stay.......
And talk about close minded, you dispel all opposing thought, HAHAHAHAHA

One of things that I don't understand about "Deniers" is, what if you're wrong? There's a lot of folks who study this for a living. Virtually all of them say this is a real problem. What's your back up plan?

When Al Gore and other Hollywood folk practice what they preach then I will change my behaviors. Sick of elitists spewing out how I need to change.

Nikky, who is to say you are not the "deniers"?
Especially since you want to deny the fact that there are very many well respected scientists who have opposing thoughts than "your scientists"?

And as I have stated many times before, I will throw in with Dragonegg, since ALGORE is the head god to you "opposing opposers, why has he not followed his own rules?
Is he so much better then us peons?

I dont think so Tim..........

If he truly believed, he would not have his private jets, and huge mansions and yachts/

Also why havent you gotten rid of your fossel fuel burning tractors and other items?
Looks like you are still burning electricity with your computer!

COME ON GET ON THE STICK AND MOVE INTO YOUR CAVE!

I don't care what Gore or other celeb's are doing, or not doing. I'm going to live my life the way I chose to. There are a billion Chinese and a billion Indian's that could care less what they are doing to the planet. I'm one man; Swimming up river gets old...

and none of that answers my question. Which tells me that you don't have one. What's with the fascination with Al Gore? When did he become the Kardasians for old guys? Also, who are these other scientists that you keep referring to?

I am walking the walk, in that I'm retiring my Massey Ferguson 30E for a more efficient John Deere 3720. With luck, once I have all of the MF bits and pieces attached, it will be the ugliest Frankentractor in the county. That's just one thing that I've done. There are others.

You are still part of the problem, last I knew Deeres still burn fossil fuel
