- More than 40 over the years. Ten at any one time. Mostly Ford and New Holland
A small local machine shop recently bought a new fairly big swivel head horizontal bandsaw. I picked up their old one on the weekend because it was one of those deals I just couldn’t pass up.
It’s an import 7”x12” capacity, 3/4 HP, 3/4” wide blade. Two new blades and all new blade roller guide bearings.
I will remove and resell the coolant tank and pump and use a wax stick for the blade. In essence at that point I will have purchased two new blades and received the saw for free.

I had 2 like that. Sold 1.
The secret to the blades lasting, is correctly working hydraulic cylinder setup.
Been following the thread but haven't posted until now - great fun to read! I have nearly the same metal BS, but mine has a gear head which is nice for speed changes and I expect will hold up forever. Cuts very square. I had maneuverability issues with those fixed wheels, plus the saw would try to run away when I pulled the head vertical or back down so I added my own wheels to it... Much nicer for positioning and the locking wheels make it stay put.

I used a guilloutine trimmer many times but never one that big , Must been a pain carrying that to the second floor to trim a house. Tools like that had a built in beauty to them .That would look great fixed up and repainted.:drink:
