Hi,

I am about ready to order wheel spacers for my Kubota B2910.

I have settled on 3" spacers, but only really need 1" spacers for chain clearance.

So my question is: Is the 2" difference between 1" and 3" spacers significant? I know wider is better. But "how much better" is what I am wondering.

Perhaps not a question with quantifiable answer...I do know the wider track would FEEL more stable...

...Just like my van runs better after I change the oil.

Thoughts/opinions appreciated!

Henro . . . do you actually need the wider track? The further you push your tires out the more strain on your B2910 axles.

Calculating tire chain clearances to a 1 inch tolerance sounds like a recipe for wadded up fenders. Get the 3 inch spacers.

Do not know if I need more than 1 inch. But once in 15 years I did end up with the tractor on its side. So extra stability can not hurt. Just not sure how much difference a couple inches on each side makes.

I doubt you'll tell the difference in stability with the 1" spacer. I've added 2"ers to my L3400, and really isn't noticeable. Go with the 3".

We added 4" spacers on each rear wheel of our L3800. It make a very noticeable, very positive difference in stability.

2” rear wheel spacers and ballast in tires made a comfortable difference with mowing hilly ground with B26. Less tippy with backhoe. Also helps with grapple stability. Front tires have Gemplers bulletproof flatproof liquid. HD loader is hard on front tires if they are the least bit low.

:) . . . push those babies out then. ;)

I'm of the wider is better school of thought. Actually in my case, wider is a necessity since a lot of my property is literally the side of a mountain. That is a 6 foot hog.

Hi,

After thinking more about this I may spend the extra $ and go with 4 inch spacers.

Decided that 3 inch will be the minimum as stability increase is more important to me than chain clearance, and satisfactory chain clearance comes with any spacer I buy.

Initial motivation for purchase is chain clearance, but the real reward for spending the money is increased stability.

Did not order yet though...but will soon.
