Best Pole Saw?

   / Best Pole Saw? #31
For anyone contemplating a pole saw purchase. We have multiple chainsaws here, all of which are professional types. The pole saws might get 100 hours of use per summer most of which is clearing trails, where as the normal saw might see 5 hours. Yes indeed, we like pole saws. In the last photo, we left that one for his big brother.

Thanks for the tip. (NOT) I have one of those killers. It will last me forever; I avoid it like all possible.

I Have one of those too. It is used exclusively to get my dogs Frisbee out of a tree/off the roof when a throw goes wrong. It also might work to drag a dead limb out of a tree if needed but never to cut a limb.

I have an older Shindaiwa. Wasn't cheap, but still going strong.

Echo bought out Shindaiwa, not sure who makes what anymore.

Ain't that the truth!

Bought a Matag washer some years back that turned out to be a rebranded Amana. Total piece of junk.

Was researching DeWalt string trimmers. Turns out they are made by Black and Decker.

Dewalt was always black and decker

i have the echo PAS and the pole saw has been great. you can use as many extensions as you can handle with it. I have only ever needed one extension. I like that i can split it in half for storage in my shed or garage, I also have the blower and trimmer.

I bought a stihl HT131 today. I expected to walk in and by the 133 since it is the new model but they told me stihl is redesigning the 133 due to warranty issues

I have a Lynxx pole pruner. It's ok for what it is but I have a bunch of pruning to do of larger higher limbs than it can deal with.
Does anyone have any experience with the Echo PPT-2620? The other option is the Stihl HT-133 (or 131 if it's available) but both of them are four strokes and I prefer two strokes and the 133 has reliability issues.

We have a new guy at work that was a former Stihl mechanic just a month ago.

He said to stay away from the cheaper stihls. He said they cost too much to repair. For one model, a new carb was $50, and for the professional grade, it was $33ish.

You get what you pay for, or at least you hope you do.
