Sounds like the OP has serious trimming to do.
I loved my troybuilt til I cut into a sapling bent like a U with a snow load. It shattered the whole housing when it flung the tree. I used it without the middle piece most of the time cause it was easy to handle

I use a 16' piece of aluminum T-bar and a Craftsman reciprocal saw. Tie wrap the saw to the pole, tie wrap the trigger closed, pop the battery in, and go to work. Just like any other pole saw you have to be careful not to let it drop when the cut completes. When you bring it back down just hand over hand to the saw and remove the battery.

Had bad luck with a "Poulan" pruning saw;Stihl if you can afford it.Milwaukee makes a really nice "battery powered" saw;nice about that is that it can be a combo tool.Purchase two batteries and you will wear out first.A buddy of mine just purchased the chine saw and pruner.

I bought a Stihl HT103 ( 12" bar), 16 lbs a couple years ago. I need all the help I can get in my old age. Being just a home owner it should last me on out. As to tiring, I just take a brake now and then, but keep working until my chore is done.

BTW, I've found that the powered pole saw is great for limbing downed trees. One can drop the limbs without getting up or into the tree.

I have the Stihl HT101 12' telescoping saw. Had it 5 years..works great. I run 100% gas in all my engines...which makes a big difference ! Paid $500....but well worth it.

Explain the 100% gas. Am I missing something? I thought it was common knowledge and practice to use 2 cycle oil mixed with gas in all 2 cycle engines.

i assume he means the premixed 12 dollar a quart gas from the stihl store. there are times i have considered it

I bought a Stihl FS 250 in 2004. They were changing from 2 cycle to 4 cycle at that time. I would assume he got a 4 cycle.
