I was wondering, well I ws wondering about two things... !

1) Is there a way to increase the Horse Power on the Max28 ?

2) Is there a way to increase the Hydraulic Pressure on the Max28 ?

If either 1 or 2 can be done, what is the best way to achieve both !

Thx / Ltr

Just to calm the beast, I did a search and did not come up with the needed info !
Although I do remember a thread or two about the subject !

1) I’m sure their is but it won’t be easy or practical

2) yes and it’s fairly easy. The loader valve should have an adjustment. Probably and hex head and lock but type setup. In increases pressure. I’d spend the $25-$30 for a gauge with quick connect- it’s worth knowing how high you are going.

You will get flamed on here if you go over the manufacturer’s max pressure. But it has been done.........wink wink.

In earlier posts you repeatedly expressed reservations about your subcompact Mahindra Max28.

Part of this is likely the 1,800 pound bare weight tractor, part the greater ambition that comes with tractor experience.

Subcompact tractors are solid for what they are. Excellent first tractors. Easy to service yourself. However, you outgrow them.
You have ten acres. More tractor is appropriate.

Five reasons owner/operators trade up from Subcompact Tractors:
More tractor weight.
More FEL lift capacity.
Greater ground clearance
Three-range (3) HST (Lower LOW, Higher, HIGH) rather than two-range (2) HST.
Larger wheels and tires yield more tractive power pulling ground contact implements and logs, pushing a loader bucket into dirt and pushing snow.
Larger wheels and tires permit heavier tractors to bridge holes, ruts and tree debris with less operator and implement perturbation.

Within subcompact and compact tractor categories, a significant tractor capability increase requires a bare tractor weight increase of 50%. It takes a 100% increase in bare tractor weight to elicit MY-OH-MY!

Max28 with a 2-range HST additional horsepower will do little to gratify you save when tractor is powering PTO implements.

Gee, most of use could use more power! Problem is, our tractors our auto's were designed for X amount of newtons, PSI or HP and when you add to it, something will break, wear out quicker or bend. Of course its cheaper to buy a larger, more powerful machine.....

ArlyA. . . yes and no . . . but sounds like the OP needs a bigger machine . . .

Yes that is true and I apply the MORE POWER theory to all of my vehicles, with better breathing, a Computer Chip Change... etc..

But I am not trying to get 400 HP out of my little 28 HP diesel motor but one things is for sure, it is the same motor used in the 33 HP Tractors, maybe the 35s... ! So I am thinking 33 HP would be nice and a little more hydraulic pressure would be even better !

Now the problem that arises is... How Much is too much ?

That is what I did to find out and I have read here on this site that larger cylinders on the FEL and the BH will help a lot.

So, here I sit broken hearted, bought a Mahindra Tractor and I want more power ! I know the phase doesn't go that way but I am trying to be funny so I don't cry about not having enough power.

The Tractor is a 2014, bought it with 43 hours on the gauge, first thing I didn't like was NO POWER !
Once in Low Range, it does get the job done, so I can survive with her, but I need to do some investigating.

Thanks for the comments !

The dealer’s programmer supposedly won’t change one HP setting to another. And I don’t know what would happen if you ordered a 33hp computer. But like was stated above- more HP won’t really do anything for your general tasks. It would help if you had a specific PTO need.

I have read here on this site that larger cylinders on the FEL and the BH will help a lot.

Unless you install a larger hydraulic pump, larger cylinders will take longer to fill. 20% larger cylinders, 20% more time.
Excruciating time.

For ten acres a tractor of 2,700 pounds bare tractor weight to 3,800 pounds bare tractor weight is appropriate, depending on what proportion of the land will be worked and whether it is level or hilly.
