I use 300 watt incandescent bulbs in an unshielded lamp fixture for a work light especially for painting because nothing else does as good job but why else would you desire an incandescent bulb?

Cheaper. Simpler. Last 10x longer than that halogen crap they were pushing before LEDs got popular. They emit no RF noise like a lot of the newer LED bulbs. (As an amateur radio operator, this matters.) I prefer the warmer color temp. They warm up the room (good in the winter). Those are just a few :)

Still use a shovel to dig a hole; still cook on an outdoor charcoal grill, still use toothpicks, have a land line telephone, open my shop door by hand, use Noxema shaving cream, paint my house with a brush and own a 1959 and a 1960 Chevy.

I heat my well and pump with a 90watt incandescent bulb. I have a nice stock pile of them, just in case.

Let's see...
landline phone (part of cable bundle, have a cheapie "burner" flip phone for emergencies, no smart phone)
paper shopping, to-do lists
paper maps (road atlas)
clothesline
cable tv (no OTA available here, streaming services pricier than bare-bones cable)
CDs/DVDs

I've never been good at working a butane lighter under ideal conditions and if my hands are wet and cold I want to know that I can start a fire.

I hear ya. Those things work when they work, and almost never when it's cold.

Hope no one has a fanny pouch!

I have a fanny pack. It comes in handy when I'm on a long walk (carry water) or when I need to hike to a worksite and only need a handful of tools. Unfortunately, the belt seems to have shrunk over the years...

Is ok to despise geared tractors and prefer manual trucks?

I always thought I'd be the last guy to give up stick shifts, but I've adapted. Do they even put manuals in trucks anymore other than the ultra-strippo ones with a 4 banger?
I like my geared tractor though.

One of these days I'll get around to putting a block heater in my tractor. Until then the 100W droplight under the hood trick does the job.

Last I heard, Dodge (Ram??) still offers a stick shift in their heavy duty trucks but that's it. Good luck finding one on a lot!

I have had zero problems with the Cree bulbs so far. They have changed them so many times and I have examples of each generation in my house. Each generation I check the bands for spurious signals. So far so good with all Cree products. Of course I don't have indoor antennas, but some bulbs put out so much trash they are "neighborhood" emitters.

Good idea...

Good to know. Thanks!

Good idea...

Even with incessant power bumps, this last bulb is starting on its 3rd year of operation. The bulb is on 24/7 from October 1st thru May 15th.
