Worked on fence over the weekend... if it wasn't raining, it was hot, so I was soaked and the ground was greasy. Got the tractor down in a little gully to set two posts, couldn't get back out due to tree roots in the mud, no traction. A little tug from the 4wheeler was all it took to get it up and out. Made good progress despite the miserable work conditions. Nearly done.

Those are some nice looking posts you cut. Must be fun tamping them in tight with all that grease. Or do you use that stuff that you pour down the hole and it sets up like 'crete ??

Gordon, it's been dry for the past few weeks, so once you get thru the top 2-3", its dry... some of it moist, would be a great garden, others powder dry. Couple dry days and I'll be able to crawl right thru where I was stuck, or if I could stay off the d@mn tree roots in the bank I was trying to climb, spaced just right to make me loose the momentum needed to get up the bank.

I've been tamping the posts in with the dirt removed, a couple I did a months ago, near the road, were mud, I added gravel from the road to the dirt when tamping to make it less like pudding!

I'll be glad when the fence project is done... too many other things I gotta get done... like my extended crew cab truck project!
