SSQA For Kubota - I need one.

Hey there. I have a Kubota L3710 currently with a Kasco Uni-Hitch setup. Its garbage. Utter. Garbage. I've fixed it a few times, but short of welding 1" thick steel plating to the entire unit it, it keep twisting on me; especially when attaching the plow. The latch dogs have also always given me issues. I'm sick and tired of it.

So what are some options? I see EverythingAttachments has something for $800+. Was hoping to get something for less money. Recently moved and there's no 220v outlet so I can't use my welder. Can't transport the tractor anywhere either. Looks like I'm stuck with something bolt on.

Looks like the Uni Hitch is SSQA. Is it not heavy duty enough?

Its on the list. Right now I'm facing a garage with 14g wiring. I can't even run a compressor in there. So I need to tear that wiring out and install 12g.

I have so many problem with this setup. The two bars flex back and forth. Especially with the plow.

Spoke to Dad last night, and we've decided to try one last time to fix it. My welder and gear are at the shop, so we're going to bring that over then use the generator to run it. Weld right in the driveway. I have a 4x8 sheet of 1/4" that I'll use. I'll plate it up solid. Fish plate everything as well.

I have a second issue with the snow plow, but that will require welding as well. I get out there today after work, I'll post up a video.

If I'm understanding you right, if you are talking about the timing bars. I would weld a 3x3 tubing between them. Could also use 3 or 4" round. What ever one should be heavy wall.

Yea, the two bars that connect each side of the arms. The original ones twisted. Cut them off and welded them. Second time I welded 3/8" bars, those welds broke. Now I'm just going to go all Mad Max and plate the whole stupid thing.

The plow is just menacing on the whole system. There's a lot of weight and torque being thrown around up there.

If the plow is bending the SSQA mount and you reinforce to stop that, I'd be concerned with bending a loader arm. I think I'd look into a dedicated plow frame and remove the loader during plow season.

I can't do a dedicated plow frame, because still need the FEL to bring in firewood.

The problem is two fold. A video is going to make much more sense, but I'll describe it here.

Its all when connecting the plow to the SSQA. Once on, its fine. The first issue is the skid steer plate on the plow, not the tractor. I prop it up vertical, pull the tractor forwards, then once the QA on the tractor comes into contact, it flops over. I need to weld in a bar or something to prevent it from falling over. Something removable so once its connected, I can take it off. So when it flops over, I curl the bucket arms almost all the way down, "scoop" up the angled edge of the plate on the plow, and fight with getting both sides on; especially when the plate is on its side. The problem gets even more complicated if the ground isn't level. One side will fit into the top groove before the other. Then its a careful balance of raising the plate to vertical so I can get out and lock the dogs. But what happens a lot is when the plate is on its side, one side will raise before the other and twist the two arms. Or one side of the groove will pop out as I'm curling back to vertical. Once side will pop out and the other will stay in. This puts a bit of stress on the arms. By the third time the snowplow is connected, the QA is contorted.

So yea, I need to fix both issues.

I went through a similar issue with my first homebrew QA plow setup.
I bent the crap out of the QA plate and had a multitude of braces and reinforcements on it.
When I got the M, I bought a new QA plow set up and sold the old beat one.

I've got everything loaded in the truck. After work today I'm going to weld up the quick attach. Brace and fishplate the **** outta it. Depending on what time I make it back to the Homestead, I'll try to remember to take a video of the plow setup.

I ran outside a few minutes early this morning to take a quick video of the plow setup.

Sorry for the quality. Its the best I could knock out before I had to leave for work.

Didn't bother taking video of the tractor side since a lot of it is in my truck. What sucks is I have to tack it in at the shop, drive back home, make sure it all fits, then drive back tomorrow, and weld it solid. Two days without riding the motorcycle in. :thumbdown:

Two sections of square tube, sliding fit, pivots on each end, locking lever and nut on the outside bit. Tighten lock lever/bolt when you park it, loosen when in use. Permanently attached, won't misplace it, infinitely adjustable for position when parking.

I was just going to weld up a box for a piece of sched 40 to fit into. One on the plow side, one of the plate side. Toss the pipe on the plow side box, then the plate side, then lean the plate forward so it doesn't fall out. Once attached, curl the arms back relieving the pressure holding the pipe, then remove the pipe. Toss it aside in the mean time.

Not my greatest welds. But I took it home and it lines up just fine on the tractor. Now to bring it back to the shop after work today and plate the whole thing.

Maybe I missed something in the thread but my first though seeing those pics is......

Those flat braces have no torsion strength.
Those plates are not going to remain in sync like that.

You can see on the item Travis posted, WR long used box tube as it provides torsion strength.

Again, if that is not your finished product then disregard my comment.
