While the mnemonic can be useful, it is pretty easy to mess it up.
Here is something else to consider. Are you ever without your smartphone nearby? I am not. Why remember a mnemonic when you could write out the definitions in a simple PDF and keep it with you in your smart phone? I have dozens of manuals for complex systems in my phone for browsing offline if needed.
But for that matter if you are in communication with the internet, you have the world's largest reference library in your hand. Think of that. Yeah, all the knowledge you could ever want about things like math and geometry at you fingertips. So if you cannot remember SOHCAHTOA or remember what stands for what, heck just google it. It only takes a few seconds, and you can find trig converters on line there also, or conversions and lookup tables for anything on earth. So you don't have to remember old Indians if you don't want to.
