The seat has a post an button type attachment at each end of seat. You pull up to detach it, then have to walk around to the other side to do the same thing. Right in the middle under the seat is the cavity that is approx 28"long x 13"wide x 12"deep. There is already a small plastic bin storage on the drivers side under seat and it is about a 12"x12" with a lid.

Btw, there is a HUGE storage area under the middle of the seat that Kawasaki decided to leave 'blank' and sell us a plastic bin to fit in there for $150. Its like 28x18x22, so I am going to pick up some diamond plate and weld up a box that drops down into that hole. A fella could carry just about any tool needed on the farm in that thing.
Nice looking machine! I do like the doors. Much better than nets! That will be a good workhorse.

The Defender is completely open under the seats. Plenty of room for tools or dogs.

we have 2 Mule Pros, an FX and an FXT. They are awesome. We did the EPI clutch kit on both (white primary spring) and changed to the HD springs- both huge improvements. We also changed to the UNI air filter for the Teryx on both, disabled the seatbelt interlock on the 2018 and added rock slider rails on the rocker panels

The FX is a 2016 we bought used with 65 hours on it for $8,500, came with roof, brush guard and windshield. The FXT is a 2018 we bought new for $14,500, with roof, 27" tires on 14" wheels, brush guard and windshield. No sales tax on either one.

We previously had a Ranger (piece of junk) and a Mule 3010 we sold with 3,000 hours on it. The Mule sold for what we paid for it 5 years earlier.

I do like the doors. The Gator has a net with a seat belt type attachment to keep you in.

OTOH, it was the idiots with their lawyers that got these things as they are. I like an old golf cart with easy in/out design.
If the doors are easy off, I would take them off

:

4 bolts per door, then you have to take the hinge pin out which has a tiny C-clip on it. Shove a small screw driver under the washer above the clip and pry it off. Not sure why they even have a C-clip since the door surround captures the pin anyway. Doors are off!

The post button is in the first photo on the rail next to the fuel tank...it has a rubber grommet in it.

Oh, and about the doors. Kawasaki really should consider suicide doors. If they opened that way I probably would never bother to take them off.

Check out the Mule Pro group on Facebook it will provide all that info.

The stock suspension springs are really soft so a lot of body wallow and lean.

EPI clutch kit for much more low end power and acceleration

Rock sliders are just 2" angle iron bolted on

Let us know how the mirrors work out. Some bad reviews on Amazon.

A friend with a JD Gator went to the dealer to get mirrors. They were close to $200. He balked and the dealer sold him aftermarket mirrors for $30. He could not adjust them to be able to see behind him at all and took them back and bought JD mirrors. The dealer told him they were for people that needed mirrors to be street legal, but did not intend to use them as mirrors:laughing::confused::eek::confused2:
