Thanks, Vigilant and others, I marked it down to get at Harbour Freight. They're near our church in Waynesboro. It'll save having to lift 5 gallon containers to the hood of the tractor.

Maybe not. It has a relatively short hose. I used mine directly on my machine, but my machine is more user friendly than a conventional tractor. Had I needed to lift the can to a hood height, I'd have used the pump to transfer from 6 gallon can into a 2 gallon can.

hF one looks like a shorter hose than terapump, which also has nozzle. Would HF one have enough lift if you put a longer hose on it?

I dont think it has much lift at all. I threw the instructions away after it worked for my purposes. I think I recall something about height though. I'll see if I can find the instructions on line.

Should be able to call the tech support line listed in the manual and ask for lift/height capacity of pump. It has a 24" output hose length plus and a 13" suction hose/tube length, so that would translate to at least 37" height capacity. But who knows. :confused3:

If I need extra fuel in the field, I set the 5 gallon can on the tractor seat and pump the fuel into the open station M9. The filler is a real PITA to get to, behind the seat next to the fender but at seat height. My cab tractor, I set the can on the step and pump it in, the filler neck is right next to the step. At home, I use the bulk tank.

I don't think the HF pump has a lot of lift but I don't think the other one does either. The 'business ends' on both look to be alike and the HF has no nozzle but who cares, it has an on-off switch, all you need and the price is less by quite a bit. One thing I found out quickly is it eats batteries. I'm going to buy 4 rechargeable Nickle Metal Hydride D cells and a charger. That way I have 2 charged all the time.

For the cost, 10 bucks, it was worth it.

I use them too. But don't last long at all. I will go 2 a winter just fueling up a kerosene heater in the garage. Had them bad right out of the box. And once they touch gas you can't take them back. So test them in water first and you might be able to return to the store. Otherwise "you" have to send back to the manufacture. But they're cheap. But kinda garbage.

You cannot buy a 12 pack for 10 bucks so who cares. When it poops, get another. better yet, wait for a 20% off coupon and get one then. The one I have has been fine for 3 years now. Maybe I'm running on borrowed time.....:D

Same. I'd rather go for a good old kerosene heater any day of the week. I use this one for about 5 years now and have never had an issue with it. Considering I leave far North and use it quite frequently, that's an indicator.
