Au contraire my good man. "I was in fear for my life" holds a lot more water if you kill something as a LEO than if you were a civilian.
I understand you point but must say my dogs are valuable. Properly trained and very well posted that it痴 no trespassing and protected by dogs. So the police best have some good reason for being here and it best match the video footage because they will be taken to court and sued for all costs associated otherwise.
Good luck with suing a police department. They very seldom accept blame...for anything (I am not a cop hater, either). Just saying.

There needs to be very tight criteria for suing a police department. If not, they'll all get sued at an alarming pace. This has nothing to do with wrongful action. It has to do with human nature...… Sadly......

One lies and the other will swear to it..
I was at the Ford dealer a month or so ago, a sheriff was trying to buy a new truck, the business manager is a friend on mine, he said he couldn't get financing because he was 20 grand in back child support.. They are no different than the guy they are pulling over or giving a hard time to because they did something wrong...
People put them on a pedestal, I don't.. 20 grand in back support and he is looking for a new truck? He is an irresponsible person, badge and all...

We had a retired cop working for us and the competition at the same time. His job was sales so it is not like he was supposed to be at his desk, it was hard to tell what was going on. I caught wind of it and went to the front desk of the competitor, did not say who I was and asked for him by name. I fired him when he came out front and when that competitor heard what went on they fired him too. I also have a relative who is a cop. Biggest deadbeat and liar I know. Others that I have come to know were similar. I am sure there are honest cops, I just do not know one. I think that since a cop can lie to you but you cannot lie to them,,,, that sets some sort of a holier than thou attitude that degrades them as individuals. I do not believe that a cop should be able to legally lie.

Sad part is, they can lie and the Judge will believe them over you. Judge believes because of a badge, that he /she can only tell the truth.

Part of the reason is because if the cop is found to have lied in court he loses his job and the ability to work in law enforcement. There are higher standards and more repercussions that come with being a sworn officer.
