Many human beings are not wired for right or wrong, they are wired for destruction, self satisfaction at all costs, and hate. These people can not be rehabilitated and should be removed from society. Some of us would volunteer for that job.

I don't think you're talking about volunteering to be a prison guard.

Well, education is the key, good schools are a very cheap investment for society, and babies are not born as criminals, they can become criminals but that is a result of the family situation and the society around them when they grow up.

Yet at the end of the day the results are the same. Are you saying that if somebody killed your mother or maimed one of your kids; that would be OK because he had a rough childhood?

Would be better if a better childhood was leading the person on to a better life than being a criminal.

So, criminals we have here in in our prisons could have been avoided, if they would have had been taught better ?

I don't know where they've been. Most people know that robbery, murder, etc, is against the law, and that they will go to prison and be someone's betch. But yet, they have no issues doing what they do.

Many of these criminals are adults. Although, youngsters are beginning to join the criminal element

Of course, educate prisoners in jail does also reduce crime when they get out and has a better chance to get a job and stay out of crime.

You'd be surprised. My SIL is technically a probation officer, but her work is in coaching and finding employment for convicted felons after their release. Unemployment is strongly correlated with them returning to prison.

Many are initially doing jobs that you would expect a high school kid to do, but if they are willing to work, they can get a job.
