I think the forced power outages in California are making people think long and hard about EV. It's a glaring example of how ill-prepared our electrical grid is for any extra demand due to years of neglect, not to mention natural phenomenons.

The biggest problem with power companies is...profits goes to shareholders and not the infrastructure...

I'm a dyed in the wool capitalist but IMO public utilities and health insurance are two realms that should be socialized...i.e., NOT FOR PROFIT...

As a capitalist, you understand that without shareholders, there would be no capital for public utilities or Health Insurance companies to exist. The shareholders are keeping Tesla alive for now, they could also end up being the biggest losers...they could not do what they do without shareholders.

A balance sheet is Assets=liabilities + owners equities. How do you reclaim the equity if it goes away? How could you procure credit if the liabilities of a company are already backed by their assets.

Share holders are the reason why corporations exist...
