Finally installed fire extinguisher

On my JD2555 the fire extinguisher sits in a piece of pvc pipe with a cap on the bottom. Cheaper would have been to drill and put a pin through the bottom for it to sit on.

I think CobyRupert's post above must have been tongue-in-cheek..

You got me! I confess!
It was tongue-in-check.

I should of added "...ready to come to the rescue or protect myself".
I was giving the "standard" answers that people give as to why they conceal carry pistols. I get that people have different levels of risk, fear, probability, etc... and I don't want to get into an argument over whether their reasons are valid, or arguments that pivot on "if you need just once it's all worth it". There's many valid points to both sides.

....but when you study those arguments, how come people don't walk around strapped with fire extinguishers too?

When out in public, I've come upon a lot more situations in my life (car fires, etc..) where I've needed a fire extinguisher than a pistol.
There's been threads on TBN that show how people mount their rifles on their tractors (or chainsaws, etc...). Personally , I often find myself needing a chain more often than an AR. At the end of the day, do what you want if it makes you feel better. :drink:

When you live in the sticks, having a firearm is more important to have with you.

The only way to conceal/carry fire extinguisher(s) would be cargo pants, I think. You'd have to wear two, one on each thigh, to balance things out.

A fire-blanket, draped around your neck and under your shirt, would come in handy too.

Vehicle mount on Kubota B26. Good protection from limbs. Same mount and placement on M59.

Can't quite tell from the picture, but if that is a plastic valve/handle type extinguisher, they are homeowner units that are built to meet a price point, and are generally considered unreliable because of the plastic valve/handle components.

Interesting thread. I was at my doctors today for my annual physical and we always end up chatting about something other than medical .. by the way he said I was in great health except for many joints. Like and old car motor and tranny are great but tires are flat and fenders falling off. Anyway he mentioned that he had a tractor fire and it totaled the tractor. I asked did he have a fire bottle, the answer was no. I suggested he get one for the new tractor and maybe two. on my RTV and tractor I keep a dry chemical bottle AND a Halon/ Halatorn bottle. The reason these last two, whichever you get will quickly put out a fire on a vehicle and live no residue nor harm electrics. Dry chemical I use for brush etc

"Dry chemical I use for brush" ???

Brush is a Class A fire?
Why not just plain H2O for brush?
