I see you can read the MSDSs. Too bad, so sad. Your equipment your money your decision. I'll keep using my "snake oil", oh and you didn't coin the phrase.

I had a can of that and put a little in the tank now it smokes me out I have to start it with the windows and door open! That will be the last time I use that in the tractor.

If you go to YouTube and watch the seafoam videos when they put it into the intake manifolds you will see the smoke. It goes away and means there is junk in there that it is burning. You probably had a bunch of build up that it released.

I can tell you by cleaning up a non-rebuildable Onan carb on my MH generator to satisfactory running condition, that it is FAR from snake oil.

It's probably doing the job intended and burning out the crap in the engine that shouldn't be there. But isn't there a different formula (can) for Diesel engines?

I think your right! It clears when I move the throtle.

Its always the same responses, I used it and it did wonders. Just funny to watch the responses for looking for a mechanic in a can. I only wish I would have bought stock in it years ago. If a carb needs cleaning, then it needs cleaning

Just like oil threads, there fun to read

It appears you're a Chemist. How does that list of components make it 'snake oil'?

DEWFPO
Snake oil, as you surely know, is a derogatory slang term for additives that aren't necessarily necessary in making something work. Has nothing to do with the specific chemistry, just a jab at the user from a non-user.....usually, seems in this case, AllDodge, whom I think I see him on the iboats forum, is just rattling our cage as it turns out. Snake Oil, er ah SF is a super product for keeping your outboard young and happy...proven itself to me time and time again. You can't go into an auto parts store or marine products store without finding it on the shelf. It has survived the test of time....my definition of a quality product.

Hey TM, good to see ya
I just don't get the following, but still do truly enjoy the reading of statements.

If there is water in the fuel use some Alcohol to help soak it up. It might help, it might not.

Have no idea why a gas motor needs oil in the fuel unless its a 2 cycle motor. How is a small amount of oil going to lube anything, for me I don't get it.

In a diesel motor adding oil to diesel (which is oil) don't see that doing any thing either.

Why put alcohol in diesel, the last thing you want is water going into the combustion chamber

Naphtha is flammable, its basically a cleaner and lighter fluid. I can see Nap cleaning things, but then again, don't see it as a good thing in a diesel motor. Ever put gas in a diesel, it turns into a 4000 pound paper weight (I've done it). Nap is not a lubricant so if it gets to high then damage to injectors can happen.

While folks say it works great and I respect pumpguync, but still if it needs to be cleaned, then remove and clean it.
