Why was BX23 production only one year ?

I'm glad to heard those that had BX23 had good luck with them , I just bought one with 1200 hrs didn't know too much about them . So far I really like mine , was a little scary the first time in a ditch still being in high range and it wouldn't move , thinking the trans was bad , dropped in low and got right out . Still learning on how to operate the controls smoothly and limits .

Pretty old thread, I wonder how many guys still own the same machine they had in 2011? I've been thru 4 tractors myself since then.

We still have the M59 we bought new in 2007. It is the largest big brother of the BX23. It's done a lot of work and shows it, but no plans to replace it. BTW, the battery is still original although the wires to it are not.

Known issues or weakness is the hydro cooling fan mounted under the tractor... it can be damaged by branches/twigs in the woods... many of us have added a skid plate for added protection if going into the woods.

Another is the air cleaner bracket tends to fatigue... some have come up with elegantly simply bungee or zip tie solutions.

I did get the upgraded seat for $50 when Kubota offered them... well worth the $50 as it contours better to keep you from sliding off the front.

The Tooth Bar is an amazing option for digging... also having the tires either tubed or foam filled...

Until the BX25 came out. :D :D

Yes! Bought one when they first came out in the fall of 2008, and never looked back. Considered upsizing a few times over the years, but never felt the cost was worth it. The hood had been changed back to metal for the 25, and with a few goodies from Harry at bxpanded.com, I have been using it a lot. Today I have to take off his Piranha Tooth Bar and put on his bucket expander for the winter. With the Bucket Expander, I can move twice the snow in each bucketful!

And yes, I still have my original battery, touch wood.

Great tractor!

Bought my BX23 in 2005. It replaced a B7200. The BX24 was available but I took the BX23 as I would not take the plastic hood. The dealer put R4 tires on my BX23 along with rear work light, pats quick hitch, welded chain hooks on bucket, high amp alternator. I added 12 volt outlet for my 25 gal sprayer. The dealer replaced the seat for free when seat replacements were being done. I have 870 hours on it and have just recently changed the battery. I do my own servicing. This will be my last tractor as I expect it to outlast me. Yes, I like my BX23 and would buy a BX23s if only I were young enough.

I still own the 8N that I bought used in 1971.
The 8N was 20 years old then, and will be 69 in another month or two.
Thus I have had the little bugger for 49 years!

I bought my 250 hr BX23 about 4 yrs ago from a grower who was in a hurry to get out of town. $3500. It is a great machine. Lbrown59 was, I Hope is, quite a character. He has 3 BX’s. Onmy very first post here in ‘09 he jumped me pretty hard. He loved to tell you he never had to change implements. Just tractors. I’m up to two, but don’t think I’ll go to three.

I'm still running my 2004 BX23. I've got alttile over 1100 hrs on it mainly as a finish mower. I use the FEL nearly as mush as the MMM and over the past 4 seasons been running a tiller, cultivator and hiller with it. The BH speeds the majority of time of it's rolling stand.
Besides the broken air cleaner brkt that's been successfully replaced with a large tie wrap the only other mechanical problems I've had is a couple leaking seals on the front axle which I repaired in this video:

I did that! Swore at the machine for 10 minutes until my friend reminded me to check if it was in rabbit or turtle. It was in rabbit, of course. 🥴
