Diesel in winter

So what I did is toss algeacide and power service white in the tank, and then I topped it off all the way to full after I went out twice to plow. That's all fine, right? To me it seems like a good recipe.

What ratio is "toss"?

Well the power service, who cares, you can't overdose with it. I poured in a few oz, more than it recommended. For the algeacide, I followed the label, it was a tiny bit.

Oh yeh, I didn't have any of that on hand initially, so I poured some seafoam in the tank earlier.

The reason I ask about the dosage is it changes the temp at which gelling is prevented.

Using PS white bottle I normally use 1oz per 3 gallon of fuel.

I remember your friend Murph saying one ounce to the glug. I still use his measurement.

I've not tested Murph's method but certainly wouldn't question it. :)

At -9c, the Diesel appears perfectly clear.

Now I really don't know what to do. I don't want to treat my bulk tanks, but don't know how much low temp additive to put in a given equipment tank of fuel. I just filled a bunch of equipment and guess I will be adding additive based on the instructions. Sucks to get caught with plugged up filters on the coldest days of the year. Wouldn't be so bad in summer.

I guess I'm right around there, too.

If dealing with unknown fuel, I'd treat it as "untreated fuel".
