Having a blast with our new M62

I made a QD mount for my auger last year using some weld-on QD bucket brackets from ebay. Having the auger on the backhoe saves so much time putting in posts and you have much better visibility. I just plumbed it into the thumb hydraulics and it works great. You do want to be sure to have some weight in the loader though or it will get really light in the front.

I agree..... next on the list, I saw one thread about someone putting one on but it was aftermarket and he had to grind.. does anyone make a customer bolt on thumb kit for these yet?

That was probably my post. I had to grind because I could not operate a tape measure correctly It was my fault- not the thumb mfg's. Other than the few minutes of grinding it was purely bolt on.

It is just as easy to hook up as any QD bucket (well... plus the 2 hoses).

Are the M59 and the M62 quick disconnect ears the same and better yet are they the same as the U25 excavator? I’ve got a ripper that I built a few years ago. I was wanting to cut the pins off and weld the ears on it but I haven’t found to fit.

I apologize in advance for being way off the M62 topic but I didn't start it ... You have no advance in the grease gun beyond 100 year old technology...not much anyway. To get some real breakthrough in grease gunning take a look at the German designed screw in cartridge type. No mess. No plunger to pull. No gawd awful process that we all cringe at and most think there is no alternative...The screw in cartridges are self-priming (and also reloadable but with an expensive gadget...). I do not yet own them (because of the price and $17 shipping to get more cartridges...) but I guarantee you this will eventually takeover the US market for grease guns. Only a matter of time. Google "Lube Shuttle" or "Air-Tec" for the current stuff.

If a grease gun has a T-handle it is OLD technology.

Once American distributors get into this, the abominable shipping cost hurdle goes away. I've seen videos with John Deere packaging of these things (green and yellow) which is probably some trial balloon marketing test. I've yet to find a dealer who knows anything about it.

I use a lot of grease per year. 70-80 cartridges. I cringe at the thought of expensive cartridges. I can pull the T handle.
