David- 6.5 hours = a rather large bird  Lamb roasts/smokes nicely in the BGE. I still manually control the heat. The the draft slider and daisy wheel stack top vent work really well at controlling airflow. It was a hairy start, but actually the consistency of the wind last night really helped stabilize the BGE's internal temperature. A 2# rolled lamb saddle roast took 1 hour at 300ºF. I inserted rosemary stalks under the lamb's string ties, spiced it, and then rubbed the lamb top/rosemary with anchovy paste which really melts down and becomes nut like in flavor.

Billy, around here if dog (a) bites dog (b), both dogs get put down, depending on where dog (b) gets bit.

I guess all you people that pigged out on turkey yesterday will be going on a diet today?

Not me, I was sent home with pie and I just polished off the pumpkin slice. Oink. It was a reward for getting off my butt and blowing off all the leaves in the driveway.
And what a nice surprise when I went out. Fireman neighbor's wife had put really nicely arranged ribbons, there's like three or four different things going on in there, and with the help of her able body assistants, for whom I left my extension ladder out, they even put a really nice bow on the barn wreath and then put the ladder away for me.
Even more to be thankful for.

The sky was on fire this morning.

Very interesting weather ahead for the NE/MA CONUS starting Sunday into Monday and maybe Tuesday as well. Weather models are all over the place as to snow/icing accumulations.

Heads Up! We have another big system landing here tomorrow afternoon, dropping 1.5" or rain Saturday and another 1.75" Sunday. More wet weather until it clears for Wednesday, then wet again through next weekend. I like these soakers, but can do without the high winds. I found the hummingbird feeder way down the hill yesterday, along with the can I use to soak my oak chips before I throw them in the BBQ. It also blew open the door to the little shed that houses the big compressor; that's what I heard slamming Tuesday night. Highest winds in the next ten days look to be less than 15 MPH, so that works for me, too. Sorry if this wet weather turns out to be upwind from you, especially if it delivers snow instead of rain...

Never done lamb on our Primo.

I've eaten lamb at my sister's house, many years ago, and I've eaten it at friends' home. And I liked it. But my wife and I have never bought or cooked any lamb.

I've always remembered when my Dad, before I was 10 years old, had a job that made him spend one night a week in the Kincaid Hotel (does it still exist) in Oklahoma City in the early or mid '40s. He once told me that he just decided to try everything on the menu in the hotel dining room; one item at a time, of course. So he said he finally ordered the lamb one evening, and the waitress kind of turned up her nose, but took the order. He said when she brought it, she almost just dropped or threw the plate down and said, "Here's your goat." He didn't know whether she knew what "lamb" was or just didn't like it, but he said it was actually pretty good.

I have had similar problems with my Garmin痴 over the years. But none of them caused a major problem. One took me on back dirt roads. It was a short cut to my destination. Good thing I had a AWD truck.

Reminds me of the time the GPS routed me through an orange orchard. Unfortunately, none of them were ripe and it was a good thing there was no one around to object to me and the motorcycle passing through...

RNG, I figure the rest of you guys will look at me as if I am absolutely nuts, but I welcome the snow with open arms and a full tank of fuel.

It's not "absolutely nuts"; it's "uniquely gifted";)

From good to better for around here for increased snow accumulations. For the past week I have seen different models reflecting a possible 2' for my area.

I am pre-positioning the NH tomorrow  My snowshoeing to the tractor while hauling a power cord long enough to make the distance will hopefully never be repeated.
