Cats kill well over one billion (!) birds annually in the US. If you don't care... you don't care - and I get their anti-rodent utility.
When we moved her 30+ years ago there were lots of quail. Entertaining as **** watching them march single-file along the porch rail, or herding 20 fluff-balls through the field. Then neighbors arrived with six cats. Haven't seen or heard a quail in 20 years

I dispute that 1 billion number. No way anyone can figure that out.
However if the neighbors moved in with a dog or two would the results have been the same?
I lived in a small neighborhood before moving to the country and one neighbor poisoned on of our cats because it kept getting on their cars and leaving cat prints. I get that too.
I'm just glad cats are free. :laughing:
