Mice

Those that think radios1s 9 year old nephew should shrug off his pet being killed should go somewhere else. (!) Are TBN members so callous that they dismiss a 9 year old kid? A kid. (!) Good grief.

We have only ourselves to blame when we presume at whatever age our kids/grand-kids are ready to accept some cold hard facts of life.

What adult hasn't outlived a beloved pet?? And how many nine year olds HAVE? Big diff between a nuisance mouse and a kid's pal.

(See life the way a kid does once in a while .. or have you forgotten your innocence since you lost it??)

Life sucks sometimes. What else are we supposed to do? Make up for it by shooting all the cats that were some other 9 year olds pet?

But wait, .. we could probably wipe out any specie of duck by ignoring habitat and allowing hunting them all year long with only a small game license. (confessing I never met/saw a duck I wouldn't gladly devour ..)

Some specie(s) of feline(s) will survive when humans no longer can. Yeah, life sucks .. and then you die .. and it's not that life is so short, but that you have to be dead for so long. ("Michelangelo, Jesus, Alexander, Hannibal, report!" ;))

We just can't raise kids expecting them to see life, or whichever sticky bit, with the wisdom of our own experience. (in case you wonder why kids rebel when they become half as smart as they think they are .. REAL LIFE!)

How about TBN members not joking about a 9 year old losing his pet? Or are TBN members not adults?

Y'mean, coldly inconsiderate? I say 'can happen', but not 'seriously' as often as it may seem . (credit/blame to oft-irreverent American sense of humor)

IMO, being 'Earth-friendly' isn't just about driving electric cars, either. (.. that pretty much run on coal.)

In a way, every life has purpose, (not quite a animist ) be it as a child's companion, (drifting OT ) or a 'fact of life nuisance' that I hope we can return focus to.

If we're going to lure mice with picnic/cookout/camping scraps and/or pet food, let's team up and help each other control what we invite into our evolved environments, ok? :)

They've taken good old green D-Con off the market. I ordered a lifetime supply from eBay awhile back. I keep one or two boxes under the hoods of my cars. I've had no chewed wires or shredded fiberglass nests since I started. Did it solve the problem? I don't know but I've had no more evidence of mice. Keep them well fed and they won't eat stuff you care about.

You don't want your cats or dogs to eat those mice filled with that stuff. Any poison has that potential.

You have been warned to have a fire extinguisher on board :)

I have had several fires from squirrels building a nest around my turbocharger.

By the time i realized there was a fire I was some distance from my home and water.

After reading your post, last Saturday I took two extinguishers out to the farm and placed on into each barn. I know, they aren't on the equipment, but we need a started point. Will eventually buy some for the tractors.

When you buy any extinguishers be certain to not buy any with plastic handles.
The sometimes brittle plastic handles can crack/break, when you really need them.
