Sorry, never heard that term. Lived in Southern California, Virginia, W Virginia, and Washington State and they've always been called "gutters".

A gutter is what's used for manure or to channel water along a street. Eh!

I've had the gutterglove (mesh screen) for over two years now. Been very happy with it. There are couple of spots where the roof aggregate from the shingles will build up on top of the screen, but at least it catches it. I'd rather clean two spots than have to walk a ladder the whole run.

It looks like I'm going to have to do this to my house. I'm getting older and not as brave as I used to be so no more walking around on the roof of the house blowing the leaves out of the gutters.

I'm just wondering what others have used and how well they work. This will be a next summers project.

Years ago, we had our gutters replaced with ones with tops. Rain comes onto the tops and just runs around the lip of the top into the gutter. The tops have kept the gutters clean for around the last 10 years.

One of the best things we've ever done. Absolutely no maintenance required.

Yup......well in some other places, they are actually called "eve troughs".

A trough that carries water away from the eves of a house.
Seems totally logical to me.
