Pisten Bully 400 service and operations

We opened up a trail today which took 12 hours, so I'm a tad tired.. I took a bunch of pictures as best as I could, using just one hand. (I'm in the machine alone) I'll add some as soon as they are processed.

Here is some taken yesterday. We might have 3 feet in the higher country so we crossed the canal* in order to get machines onto the south side and to the trail that goes about 20 miles SW of town and into that higher country. The 1st one is us crossing the bridge into Houghton. At this time of the year, we move with normal traffic but the bridge will later be raised, so we'll go under it and it will be covered with snow. The 2nd one is the dash the operator sees and you can also see the joystick control that's for the blade and your implement. In the 4th one shows snow I'm pulling onto the trail. The keys are never removed from these bully's, which are commonly parked outside. :shocked:

*the Keweenaw peninsula is an island.

Nice!!! Looks like you guys have such nice trail beds to run over! Nice amount of snow! We’ll be a few weeks yet waiting for ice to thicken and swamps to freeze..... it’s shocking how long a swamp takes to freeze up....
Do you always run with 2 machines together? Our trails are mostly go/turn around and come back.....

No we do not normally do that but for opening up a trail, sometimes it takes 2. What machines do you guys run?

Folks who have never spent a day cruising the trails maintained in pristine condition by Arly and his colleagues on the latest snowmobiles with their recliner like suspension systems don't know what they are missing.

Out on the trail today and took some snow photos just for you characters. This is what we see over the course of the day. For anyone familiar with our area, this was my turn around point in Toivola MI. This is higher country than town and gets better snow than Houghton does.

how often do you guys go groom and how long does it take?

Pictures are great. I would like a job like that. Just not sure I would able to survive the Houghton weather.
