10 hour grease job question

In like the ridged pipe grease gun and loc-n-lube for my FEL and most joints.

This thread is inducing me to look for a system to grease by truck. Underneath the truck and difficult to hold on to fitting and pump at the same time. Almost impossible.

I don’t know why you’d want a lock&lube with a battery powered gun. The whole point was to free up your second hand to pump. In any case they don’t get along good with my backhoe. A Dewalt cordless and stock coupling for me. It’s actually a better than average coupler. I’ve never had it fail to work on a grease fitting that’s not damaged.

That’s not the whole point for me... Or how locknlube advertises their product. From their website:

Locks on, does not leak (true)
Grease goes in, not on, the machine (true)
Hands free, does not leak under pressure (true)
Easily releases from clogged grease fittings, even under pressure (true)

Have you actually used one? Freeing up a hand is a minimal benefit compared to everything else they do well.

Regardless what type of grease gun you use, you should grease a brand new machine. Yes, as soon as you get it. Most of the time new machines have never been greased or the grease cavities have not been filled. After that is done, I only grease equipment as needed. If it gets used more....it gets greased more.

If you hold it on I’ve never had a single one of those problems. I’ve actually never had a single one of those problems with the regular coupler on my Dewalt gun.

This is sometimes true, but it was pretty obvious on my machine that the dealer had greased the heck out of it. But yes, if the grease cavities are not oozing, you’re way past time to grease.

I bought one. Pumped several tubes of grease thru it. Mailed it to Murph.

I list all of your scenarios as false.

Me neither.

I don’t even know what this means. If you don’t like the locknlube, fine. Makes no difference to me. But it has solved a lot of problems for me and I’ve been very happy with it. I’m happy for you that you have never experienced any issues with grease fittings. Now have a nice day.

Rather than copy/paste each of your examples and address them individually I took the lazy route. Sorry if that offended you. Wasn't the intent.
