OMG, already thinking of winter

I'm getting my new tractor tomorrow, a new LS XR4140 with a snow blower. I might by crazy but I'm looking forward to some snow to try it in a nice, warm, dry cab. Then I have to figure out what other attachments I would like.

You set yourself up for little or no snow this Winter. :D

Deer Park! Hopefully we do get some this winter. Where I'm at (near you, in the mountains) I typically get about 3 feet. But winters have been really strange, especially this year.

And Congrats on the tractor! Cascade Tractor in Spokane?

I'm north of Deer Park right at the three counties borders. Yes, I did buy it at Cascade from Scott. I've bought both of my tractors from him. I have about 3/4 of a mile of road to keep clear plus the driveway and around the house. The snowblower is a monster. I wonder if I'm going to be able to move it myself or have to use the other tractor to help move it. Got really tried of snow blowing it on the little tractor. Took about 2+ hours by the time I did around the house and the road. Now I'm going to be warm and get it done faster. All this rain is killing me!

I saw this tractor sitting at Goodyear in Spokane. I’m thinking you must have had the tires filled. Definitely a nice tractor! And that’s definitely a monster front blower!

Very nice Snoscape. Great little trail-breaker too.

Very nice! Yes, the rain does suck. Wish it was snow. I bet your eager to try out the new blower! I'm a bit jealous. I'm just using my bucket and box blade. I'd suggest chains too.
If ya dont mind me asking, what did that set you back, for the blower?

I'm not really enthused about the coming snow, but I want to see how my loader equipped tractor will handle it.
No cab, so I won't be warm, I will just suit up in insulated coveralls. I haven't got a long driveway like some on here.

You will love the tractor. When I got mine, I had the dealer snow me the front mounted blower they were installing on another machine. That convinced me it was not for me. I am in my late sixties and did not want to wrestle with it, and I had no space to store the sub frame. I wound up getting a pull blower and it has been fine so far. Plus, I mounted a blade on the FEL SSQA so I can back drag and plow as well as blow. Having a cab is wonderful

That's what I was thinking of getting. The front mount seems like a bunch of work to get it mounted, and I dont have a front PTO, so that option is out anyway. (they do run on a front PTO, right?)

The pull behind blowers would seem to work pretty well, but I'd be slightly concerned about the amount of snow and the tractor compacting the tracks. Is that an issue? I was looking at the 3-pt drive-in-reverse kind. Would be murder on my neck, but might do a better job?
Then having the bucket or plow on the front to pile it up or whatever, to round out the snow removal experience. That would be great. Heck, anything is better than what I have now... a FEL and box blade. :)

$7250 for the blower and mid pto installed. It was my tractor at Goodyear getting the Rimguard.

Winter started around Halloween. Can't just be a nice friendly, albeit early, winter. If it's not freezing rain, it's snow squalls, whiteouts, unseasonably cold temps and high wind.

ohhh... that actually sounds like heaven to me. I know, I'm weird.
I love winter. Everything about it. The snow, the cold, the dark long nights, the Holidays. Its just so awesome.

So here is my reasons. I live where it gets cold and snowy about mid-December (usually) and where I'm at get about 3ft total of depth a year. Thats great and all, but I want 6ft. :)
Where I live, we also get a ton of rain and mild weather when it should be -9°F and everything melts into a nasty sloppy mess. I prefer it cold.
Also, when it's cold, there is nothing better than snuggling up to a fire, a warm blanket, a glass of something, and my wife. Summer, cant really snuggle up to the AC unit, and the wife defiantly doesn't want to cuddle. :(
The dark, I just prefer it dark. The sun is nice and all, but the stars are better in my opinion.
The Holidays plus my B-day (coming up in a few days) adds the frosting to this cake.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in my weirdness in. :dance1:

Curious, why you have a cab? Open station with a couple of bus driver type fans blowing in your face, might make you happier. Maybe leave the house wet, for starters. Yeah, weird. lol

There are times when I like to feel the cold wind coming across the fields on an open tractor. Makes you feel alive!

I watched that, was it a case of laughing rather then crying and bitching about it.
A couple of them didn't seem to be doing much but standing around with their thumbs up where the sun don't shine.
