one thing maybe not mentioned. with an instant pot you don't have to worry about the crock breaking, either from dropping, or just a sharp temperature difference!. and you can sear meat before cooking, too!..
I worry about the crock shattering also. We usually put the meal together in the crock the night before and refrigerate until firing up the crock pot the next morning. So far, ten years and it hasn't shattered yet. I still worry.
