Cancer comes in many forms. We have developed very few cures for anything . Most medicines treat symptoms, they don’t cure.

That's just what he said; we can do our best to take preventive measures; but if it does occur, try to catch it early and treat the symptoms.

It sounds like something he heard in a lecture somewhere...future "cures" will be genetic in nature and will occur before the fact in most cases...

The data gleaned from all the autopsies on the 18, 19, 20 year olds that were causalities of the Vietnam war proved that even by that young age the damage done to the heart and vascular systems had already been done...yet how many fried happy meals does mickey-D's sell every day...?

"preventative measures"...good luck with that...!

Somewhere along the line, before he got his post doc he passed from listening to lectures and started giving them.
"Preventive measures" have been around longer than I have; don't smoke or sniff gasoline fumes, don't work around xray machines without protective devices (have you ever wondered why the technician leaves the room while you are getting xrays? They are running that machine week after week, it helps to reduce their exposure.)

Interesting you should mention it...
FWIW...Radiology labs (x-ray) rooms are lined with lead (believe it or not)...even wooden doors will have a layer of lead veneer inside...what looks like glass (the tech's stand behind) is actually lead crystal...
...The walls will usually be sheetrock with a 1/8" layer of lead under the paper...Every screw will have a lead insert that gets mudded into the Phillip's (+) head slot...every electrical opening (switch, receptacle etc.) will have a lead liner...

Anyone that is "aware" or sensitive enough to recognize the difference may think that x-ray rooms have a strange feeling...What it is...is the lack of a lot of the typical RF and other types of invisible energy that is not penetrating the lead envelope of a radiology lab...It does not eliminate all but enough to make some people notice...

The moon landing was faked. The Earth is flat. Vaccines cause autism. The Statue of Liberty is there to scare off immigrants. EV's will never work.

Did I miss any?

Are you aware that if you ring a red bell every morning beside your house . You will never have a stampede of elephants across your property .

Here you go, Gale. This Chevy Bolt is said to have made it all the way to Florida from NY.

Who here thinks that will work ?

No, I was not aware of that but it makes sense.

What “sensitive people “ notice is that room has been effectively sound proofed by the heavy metal. No difference then when the an almost silent HVAC system in an office building trips offline . The place feels like a void .
Modern X-ray diagnostic equipment now operates at such low dose rates and directional beams that little to none of that shielding is required . That said treatment rooms where high doses are applied to kill rumours certainly need shielding .

I'm sure it's true with modern equipment and new buildings etc...but what I'm referring to has nothing to do with audio noise...it about all the RF and microwaves that are constantly bombarding any populated space and beyond...people are so used to it and suddenly it's not there...
