I'm on my second 2.7EB F150, had a '15, now an '18. Both have performed above expectation, with zero issues. The 2.7EB is a heavy-weight puncher despite it's small displacement. With a tune, it's even more impressive, as Ford left considerable margin on this engine. Tho I only tow between 4-6K, the 2.7 is capable beyond that with a correctly configured truck. I would choose this engine for all tasks up to 7K towing. It offers the best of everything; cost, power, & efficiency. For heavier towing duty (>7K), I would opt for the 3.5. The 5.0 is also a competent engine, but once you get used to the instant torque of the EB's, it's hard to feel comfortable with an NA motor again, especially in a truck.

If you're serious about purchasing, I would suggest a thorough test drive of the 3 popular engines, the 2.7, 3.5, and 5.0. All are great performers, but each drives with a noticeably different feel. Depending what feel you like, will likely determine your choice of engine. Again, no bad choices here, but they are quite different in their behavior.

My son just got a new 2020 350 Platinum in magnetic metallic, man that is one sharp looking truck... Platinum's seem to hold a ton of value.

My 350 gets very little use, 17K in the last 3 years, and 5k of that was down to Kentucky and back a year and a half ago. I plan to keep it for 10-15 years and its probably the last heavy truck I buy. the Magnetic Red was my first choice in color, but living on a dirt road had me concerned with dirt and dust scratches. ..so white it was. ..it has the Bordello ..almost maroon interior that I really like.

I had a 2019 xlt but traded it. The dashboard was separating, driver door hitting front quarter panel, 10 speed transmission (paired to a 5.0 which may or may not consume excess amounts of oil) was always hunting. I was really disappointed with it and took a small loss when I traded it. Went to dealers lot and service writer and I looked at all their 2019 xlt's. Every single one of them had a separating dash. Ford would replace according to TSB but why should I let Ford rip a new truck apart (6 hour job) and TRY and put it back to factory specs.

My wife had a ruby red with bordello trim 150, that is a gorgeous interior. That 350 will last a lifetime with those miles.

In my driveway I have 4 new body style Fords. 2-150s 1-350 and 1-450. None of the dashboards have the problem you report.. The fit and finish inside and out is fantastic. ..Maybe yours fell off the delivery truck before you got it. ...personally I can't imagine not noticing a door rubbing on a fender before buying a truck... Maybe it was dark when you got it. ..As far as the 10 speed hunting for a gear, I will give you that. But what I have figured out is that when I'm towing, I put it in tow haul,..no hunting for gears. Hen I'm on the highway for a long stretch I put it in normal mode...again no hunting for gears. Hen I'm just banging around town, I put it in Eco mode and then no hunting for gears. I have not found a good situation for the sport mode yet...maybe if I take it to a 1/4 mile drag strip sometime... But certainly if it's in normal mode and I'm just bopping around town.. The 0 speed will hunt for the right gear.

Jeepers.... I use the sport mode anytime I'm not on the highway; in town traffic or mountain drives, I love sport mode. Lot's of torque...

Very few mountain passes up this way, tons of ****** roads and traffic..lots of stop and go. Sport mode seams to hold a gear longer and in this area it will feel jerky.

On the F150 Forums I've read about the dash separating. Not a common problem but enough that its showing up.

I don't think I would say my 10 speed "hunts". Yes, it does shift more than a 6 speed would, but unless you are watching the gear indicator you really don't notice the shifts.
