Im glad the mother ship didn’t see you out there and take ypu away. But they were probably focused on San Diego.

Was more afraid of the geese dropping bombs.

As I watch you hammer panels into position, I wonder if they are just naturally a snug fit, or if the OSB has swelled a bit in outdoor storage to make things even more snug?

Yes they are quite snug...looks normal based on what I have seen.

From examination of the osb, it doesn’t seem like it has swelled at all. I have watched videos ov builds where they use a strip of osb as the sill plate with another piece of wood nailed to that. They don’t s m to have any issues sliding the panels around so I figure they ripped them to size. I plan to rip the rest o f the footer and remove about 1 kerf width from the inside of the foot plate. I cant imagine I will lose anything for structural integrity.

It almost seems like you are faster getting them into position by hand and not using the excavator.

For the ones we can manage, that works well. The ones we put up Sunday night were just too big. A 5’3” triple 2x8 header along with the jack splines will make. 6’x5’ panel real heavy. Way too heavy to think about putting it ip manually with just 2 people. We have a front wall tht has 3 5’x5’ windows all next to each other with triple 2x12 headers. I cant even imagine yet, how i am going to get that beast assembled.

I went to the build site today, mostly to check on things after the big storms we’ve had. Sustained Winds of 18-20 mph. Everything is fine.
It was rainy and cold today so we went to a movie and an early dinner. We saw “1917”. That was pretty intense.
I’m a week behind on editing. Trying to catch up a little this weekend.

That looked frustrating.
