Are there any refrigerator companies that make a reliable fridge anymore ??

I find people giving away freezers and refrigerators that have quit working. I have repaired many
I have two freezers that I have repaired and three refrigerators I have repaired with mim. cost

I bought one of the small freezers from sears a couple yrs ago. Within a year, I replaced the thermostat and the relay on the compressor.
Funny thing was, When I called sears parts for the compressor relay, sears said that part wasn't a replaceable item is why it isn't listed on the parts list. I went on E bay and purchased one

I have an old freezer (kenmore) that is probably 50 yrs old. Never an issue with it. It contains R12,

Our first refrigerator here was a Whirlpool. Something on it pooped out after 25 years. No local repair. We've had a Kenmore now for 13+ years. It works just fine.

No. not frost free.

I have never had good luck with anything with GE on the door. there was a GE firg. and GE microwave in the home when I bought it The GE frige worked for a while then, replaced the ice maker. then the compressor took a crap. I wasn't going to replace the compressor. just wasn't worth it to me. Then the microwave took a crap. magnetron went out

I currently have a Frigidaire. (electrolux) Five yrs now, and no issues

1949 Philco was Mom and Dads first refrigerator and it was a hand me down from Dad's Grandmother... this was in the 50's

It is still working in the shop... so over 70 years... but I only use it now in the summer.

Personally I would rather have a freezerless Refrigerator in the kitchen, there just is not much of a selection. The garage freezer is a better setup for me.

they're out there. Just not popular and as you have indicated, not a big selection.. These companies are going to produce what's popular

Our cold spot freezer was old when we got it 30 yrs ago. Still running good.

You don't reckon that gasket has hardened up in the last 50 years or so do you?
