I am not a plumber and I just cant fathom a crimping tool for a homeowner that would cost $2000. But if you think you need one of that caliber and can afford it, then by all means go for it.
My wife soon forgot about chastising me for buying a one time use tool( or any tool for that matter) after she found out it did no good to complain. If I need something, even if it is a one time use, then I buy it. I dont buy contractor quality tools for one time use though.
I also dont agree with the thought of saving something for my kids. They all make a good living so they dont need my money. I do what I want with mine, after all, I worked and saved for over 40 years for what I have. If there is anything left when I die, then everyone can fight over it (or not) but I dont consider myself saving for my children. Wife and I do whatever we want but both of us are mainly happy to just stay home most of the time.
