So a 16' trailer would be the minimum length?

Yes I would say 16' is min.....but it depends on where the axle is on the trailer. To get the tongue weight correct, depending on the attachment, you may need a 18-20' so you can get the balance right.

This is a pretty heavy duty truck (37,500lbs) & trailer (24,000lbs). The weight of the machine is relatively small (~4 tons) compared to what I typically tow (~10 tons).
Pretty surprised 16' could be "tight", but if the bare machine is 10' long, I guess its not hard to imagine the mower protruding another 6'.

With those capacity numbers, I can see your point on not needing it perfectly balanced.

Is your cutting tall & thick? Like something you'd need a bush hog for?
Or is it more like a lawn?
Thanks for your reply, I'm really torn about this.
5600 NOW and do a few small modifications or wait and wait for 5610?
By the way, I'm also more narrowed down to a 2016 or newer with traction control.
That narrows the field down quite a bit more.

Bobcat finish mowers are like most lawn mowers, in my experience. If your cutting more than a few inches off, your better off with a brush mower. I have cut grass 12-18 inches tall but barely ran 1 mph and had to make a couple passes to get it clean. I have have a 72” Brushcat for heavy mowing, and it works surprisingly well on the Toolcat. I’ve mowed weeds that were taller than the cab.

If I’m cutting more than a couple inches off the grass with my 90 inch finish mower, I have to slow down quite a bit and or in heavy grass the pressure relief will kick out or it will strip. I think Bobcat really needs to increase blade speed on finish mowers. My finish mower actually cuts nicer when I have it on my T650 with height hydraulic flow.

Could you measure the length of your Toolcat with brush cat mounted. I want to buy a trailer and don’t know if 16’ is long enough

Finish mower and Brushcat 17.5ft, call it 20ft to end of receiver hitch on back, think it was another 3 ft to end of 3 point arms. Back tires are just few inches short of 16 ft. Pics on car trailer is 16ft deck and 18 ft with tail. Pic with both mowers on my gooseneck has 25ft deck and 5 ft tail. If you buy a Brushcat, I recommend getting front rollers.

So a 5610 with a brush cat or 90” mower attached to it would NOT fit on a 16’ dump trailer? There is an 18’ trailer available. Should I plan on the 18’ trailer?

It would be tight and may not be able to close tailgate. You can gain a little more room by lifting the front of mower above the front of trailer bed.
