Buying Advice Skid steer vs loader tractor vs telehandler

Got a small farm in Devon, England so land is not flat in the slightest. At the moment we are just running an old IH 454 with a front loader but looking for something a bit bigger and 4wd. Currently moving silage on a rear bale handler. Main uses would be moving straw and silage around for Feeding and bedding in the winter.
Current options we are looking at is an old JCB loadall, a small ish loader tractor or a skid loader.
Loader tractor would be handy in the summer for odd bits of field work but not essential.
Downside of skid steers I’m told they’re not particularly stable on hills?

I’m just curious to hear anyone else’s thoughts on what may be suitable? Particular things to look out for/avoid?

I would take a loader tractor over a skidsteer all day long but there are some spots a skidsteer is easier to get into. I find SS have a harsh ride and are unstable.

The compact telehandlers are really slick. If you need the lift height and lift capacity CTH fill a great niche.

There are "all terrain" skid steers with large wheels. My tree service uses a Bobcat (brand) ATSS. ATSS is much more stable laden and unladed than my Kubota tractor/loader.

Also CTL (Compact Track Loader) a Skid Steer with tracks in lieu of wheels. Great traction and stability on hills. Kubota offers CTL iteration in USA, which are common in construction work in north Florida.

Were did you find the ATSS designation? I don't recall any manufacture using that designation.

2) I am trying to say that Kubota does not offer wheeled Skid Steers in the USA.

I stand corrected. Kubota DOES offer wheeled Skid Steers in the USA.
