Knowing what you know now, which mower would you buy?

I haven’t seen a flail on a zero turn. The F is available in four wheel drive and is markedly better on slopes.

It’s also markedly more tippy. When I demoed it on a hillside, it felt more topheavy than the ZD.

OK looked at the video.

What is the user doing with his right hand on some lever?

Seems dumb to have to hold onto that lever to cut, or in this case, grind up grass and weeds.

You know you are soooo right. I saw a Ferris at a customers place and asked if I could run it. The suspension was amazing, and it was really fast.
The ZD331 I have pretty much needs some seat work. It isn’t the best ride in the world....

Loved the Kubota diesel it even had suspension seat but the ride was still rough.I had back surgery about 15 years ago I sure that did not help matters.

Theres this guy in my neighborhood that did a simple modification to his hard riding zero turn that I MUST do.
He removed the seat and added simple hard rubber bushings, like thick washers between seat mounting bolts and frame and he said it made a world of difference. Costs next to nothing.
I have to do this before mowing season gets started.

How often do you mow, and how long does it take you? A good commercial zero turn will mow 5 acres or more in an hour. Mow once a week and you won't let the grass get to 8". I used to mow a field once a season with a bush hog. Grass would be 2-3 feet tall and it would take me all day. Then I started mowing once every 5-6 weeks, and it would go faster, but still take too long. Around that time I bought a Hustler residential zero turn for my lawn, and used it on the field, took 90 minutes. A few year later I upgraded to a Hustler commercial mower and can mow it in 50 minutes. My mower will do 6 acres an hour if you can run full speed. Helps to have both flex forks on the mower and an air ride seat. I mow it every week. I like having a well cut field past my backyard, and I enjoy my time on the mower.

BuggyMasters You should really look at Grasshopper mowers and especially the Front Mount mowers. If there is a Grasshopper Dealer close by try to demo one of these before you buy any other mower.

I DO NOT YET own a Grasshopper. But I have some property similar to the picture you posted. I have been looking at the Grasshopper and with the front mount the maintenance is much easier and they have some pretty powerful models available. I will probably get a Grasshopper in the next year or so.
