Thanks for the report Willy. We're not getting that high of mileage, but that's how living in the cooler climate goes. Looks like we'll be traveling in ours over the Easter holiday to central SD, to visit family members who are descending with illness. I'm amazed just how comfortable this silly truck is while doing those long trips....

That trip will be a good indication of mileage

I like my 2019 Ranger so far. My gas mileage is not as good as some others are getting but hopefully will improve. I only have about 2,000 miles on it so far. I complain about the excessive amount of warning lights, chimes, beeps and buzzers but overall I am pretty impressed. And, I would prefer less use of the touch screen. I more of an "old school" guy when it comes to this. I would rather turn a knob than use the touch screento leave the audio selection to adjust the temperature. My 2017 GMC Canyon would allow me to do this without taking my eyes off the road. The ride and quietness is better than the Canyon. I also am not a fan of the auto stop/start feature although it is easy to turn off. I just forget to do it and you have to do it each time you start the vehicle.

There is an annoying issue that has been there since new and that when the engine is cold is has what sounds like the engine is surging at low speeds. I have read some complaints that it the engine cooling I am hearing rather than the actual engine rpm surging. I have an appointment to have it checked.

But overall, I think its a pretty good truck.

I've reverted to "mostly" using the buttons on the dash, for cab heater controls. Like you, I prefer buttons over the touch screen. Nonetheless, I've got to liking the features on this silly truck more and more over time. This is the opposite to the 2017 Tacoma we traded in.

Just curious as to why you do not like the auto stop/start feature?

I have only drove a rental with that feature once, so I do not have an opinion on it yet.

I don't think it works as "smooth" as Ford would claim. I works okay and its really just an annoyance more than anything. You can tell that the engine is shutting off and if you take off right away, there is a short "stumble" as it restarts. Again, not a deal breaker and I like the fact you can shut it off with a switch by the 4 wheel drive selector. I wish it would stay off until I wanted it back on.

I also would like the auto stop to be defaulted in the off position instead of the on position when starting the Ranger. I have a lot of stop signs and the quick stopping and starting is unnecessary and probably waste fuel. I usually just have a routine of turning it off after I connect my seatbelt. My Kia is the same way so I guess all vehicles will soon have the auto stop.

It was in the mid 70s yesterday and I was plenty sweaty and dirty after clearing brush when i jumped in the Ranger to go home. I'm glad the dealer threw in some seat covers. My dog also likes them when she jumps in the back seat.

That's why if I do get one it will be with the seat delete. In the 20+ years that I've had extended cab pickups I can probably count on one had the number of times that somebody has ridden in the back seat.

I thought I'd hate that auto shut off feature and be turning it off. Its still on today. Yes, there is a little hesitation at start up but not enough to bother.

It auto turns on every time you turn on the ignition. I was a little confused by your statement “It’s still on today”.
