Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I've been using the snot of of the 1" x 12' Lashing Straps (Item 40058 among others) . They're great for tying a ladder off to a post or rafter. I also raise and lower tools with them. Tie one end to the handle of a drill, saw or nailer, carry the other end up the ladder and tie it off, then hoist the tool up. Lower it down when done. Did the same with some 2 x 4 x 8s today. Got my fuel barrel strapped to a pallet with two.

I'm a Patreon supporter of AvE. A lot of his analysis is actually quite insightful. I really appreciate the fact he doesnt take any sponsorship. So many tool reviews & what not are just advertising shills that cant be trusted.

I struggled to continue watching his comparison of the Earthquake grinder and the Milwaukee grinder when he started off by chopping the package open with a saber saw. But, I did continue through his entire presentation, most of which I found to be useless information.

He appears to be completely bored with his job, in trying to spice it up with his vulgar language and inapplicable labels. Surprisingly, he did successfully reassemble both units near the end, and they worked; or so the impression was that those demonstrated were the actual units that he ripped apart.

All-in-all, that being the first time I've seen his useless YouTube presentations, I can save myself a lot of time by simply skipping them in the future.

+1...... I view all the video's for entertainment only, but I can do without the constant expletives. There are much better and informative vids in the tube anyway. What did it for me (besides his foul mouth) was the locked rotor full amp draw with the 2 cordless drills to see which one 'smoked' first. Even a moron should know that any motor with a locked rotor and full amp draw will smoke in short order. That was then end for me with him. I hope he has to purchase those tools and I sincerely hope that no retailer 'donates' them for him to destroy. He's an idiot, a vulgar one at that.

How easy/smooth does the one ton shop crane move with a 2-300 pound load suspended?

I use their trolley on my beam with a IR air operated 2 ton hoist all the time and I lift and move my motorcycles no issue. I like changing the oil and cleaning them at eye level....lol Just make sure the lower flange in the beam is clean and smooth where the trolley wheels roll. I sandblasted and painted my beam before I put it up and I keep the wheel axles greased as well.

Do you mean this one ton shop crane?

This tire/wheel assembly is 200+ lbs, possibly more. Enough that it was spooky when I was rolling it around not attached to the crane.

This floor is very rough. Dad and I (as a teen) didn't know to go back and smooth the concrete again as it set up. (You can see one of the trowel ridges in the photo). Rolling a creeper under a vehicle is noticeably rough.

Rolling this crane with the tire was same as rolling the creeper, bumpy but it never needed extreme force.

^^ Yeah, that one. I'd be using it on blacktop over gravel that has settled enough to feel divits when walking. I'm thinking I may be able to use my hand truck though ... not sure.

Another photo showing how crude, uneven, that shop floor is. It took a good push to get the crane past ridges but nothing severe. But if you sink into asphalt, that sounds difficult.

(This $25 trailer plus an IBC tote became my watering trailer).

The casters on the shop crane work fine on a smooth clean concrete surface, but on gravel or macadam I think you'd be better off using one of the air-tired hand trucks. If you need the crane to lift whatever you're moving, you can wrestle the empty crane across the irregular surface fairly easily. With a load suspended it wouldn't take much to impede it.
