Best drillin sauce known to man...

MolyDee is awesome. That looks like a Walker Turner Drill Press

Maybe some earthmuffin waterbased ecofriendly tapping fluid? NOT! LOL!

- It's an old as$ Delta, a guy was going to throw away, it was rusted too crap, I painted, lubed, and resurrected it.

I've been looking at replacing it for years, but I just keep on truckin with the old school

Decided to angle the front cutter blade and leave the rear (steel angle only) straight.

First thing is to cut the blade down to fit, used a thin disk on a 4 1/2" grinder, cuts right through pretty easy.

Next thing is to drill to mount the cutting blade, mocked it up with some C clamps and marked it.

These little broach style carbide cutters work great, the only thing is you need to take your time, and stop and clean them out when they get full of cuttings.
I use a small 90 degree pick to clean the bit and the cut groove, you can tel when it needs cleaned because there is hardly any cutting happening when you are applying quite a bit of force on the drill press handle.

Got the blade mounted.

Had to cut the ends of the bolts off or they would of dragged under the cutter. No problem, easy fix.

Here's what it looks like so far (not welded in yet)

I'll be able to add a rear cutter blade later easy.

I can also cut the angle out and change it also if need be.

Getting everything set just right before I put the welding to it.

Looks like the same model Delta as mine. I made an idler pulley to slow it down for drilling in metal:

That looks just like it, great idea with the idler. I just might have to rig mine up the same. Thanks for the idea!
